Hmmm, maybe the issue ought be viewed from the other way around - it's not that there's been too much technological advancement in clothing, its that there's not enough. Aside from artificial materials, there really haven't been too many changes.

Could you imagine if a new car differed from one from 20 years ago only in the styling? Or if new houses came with woodburning stoves?

Shoes have changed quite a bit in terms of materials and construction in just the last 10 years.

But we've been promised clothes that just snap to your body like jello, and in the end of the day you eat them.

I do like the different colors of panties. The favorites that I have are red with big roses.

And as for bras...I tolerate mine in the day, but as soon as I get home, that puppy's OFF. They are helpful, though. As mentioned before, running sucks without one. And don't forget the back pain that can be caused by bigger boobs!

I have no real opinions on bras. I buy my underwear in six or eight packs for five bucks at Walmart, but I do have a few pairs of boxers that are cool.

I do have strong opinions on ties though. I hate them.

I have to wear a tie to work. I really like it, because it's velcro, not tight at all, and very sequiny! A lot better than the bowties that the other departments have to wear!

I hate ties too. I wore formal suit two times in my life, but tie never.

Except that on girls they can be sexxay,

I love wearing ties.

Choking hazards should at least be stylish.

Even if you're not that big-chested, a well-fitting bra is freakin' awesome. I hate it when the twins are jiggling, and while I don't need massive hardware to support them, no support at all sucks.

Also bright red underwear is lucky.

Also I hate business clothing. I hate wearing it and I don't think guys in suits are attractive. Or rather, I don't think that suits flatter them at all. But I know plenty of chicks who dig it so that's really just my personal taste.

All anyone really needs is a few t-shirts, a pair of jeans, and a comfy hoodie, and you are ready for any situation*

*situations may not include: job interviews, formal dances, and beach parties

As for the suit thing, I LOVE wearing a suit. I feel oh so...snazzy.

The only suits I like to wear are custom tailored suits. I've worn them exactly twice - once as a groomsman, and once as a groom.

I've worn lots of suits. But bleh. I don't much care for suits.

My only problem with suits is that they aren't durable! They should make suits out of kevlar or something, so I can do battle-rolls across the floor while yelling in an English accent, without scuffing it.



But I pick my favourite pair of jeans and a black shirt over anything else. That combo has taken me through sun, rain, sleet, and snow. I started wearing my jacket just so ppl would stop asking "Aren't you cold!?"

A couple of points:

1) Modern diets, particularly in the Western world, include far more protein than the diets of tribal peoples. This change has two results directly related to breast size:

A) Higher body weights. Even before Western eating habits went out of control, we had higher body weights than hunter-gatherers or even peasant agriculturalists.

B) Earlier puberties. High-protein diets kickstart puberty, although it takes a couple of generations for this effect to show up. The earlier a girl starts puberty, the more time her breasts have to grow before maturation and pregnancy disrupt growth cycles.

To put it into terms the average geek would be familiar with, Japanese women have smaller breasts than American women (On average) because the Japanese diet has smaller portions and less protein than the American diet. And bigger breasts need more support.

2) When they have to run around or carry a lot of stuff, women in tribal societies will often bind their breasts. But since that's uncomfortable, and a spare piece of cloth isn't always at hand, they don't do it often.

I have to post here right now just to say, "I'm wearing awesome underwear right now. Orange, with bats all over it."

In no indigenous, tribal society (far more practical folk in my opinion) do women find any need for 'support'.

Have you ever seen these indigenous tribal societies in National Geographic? Those women aren't exactly perky. Some look they might be in danger of tripping over them. Don't fight a good thing.

I love wearing ties. Any chance I get, I do. One of my new favorites is this skinny black tie I got ahold of last year. Got the last one the store had.

you all are forgetting about popular "western" society's fear of the female NIPPLE!!. seriously, its bizzare at this point. movie producers can show the rest of a breast and skate by with a pg-13, but that inch of skin bumps it up to an R.

Nipples are fun. Damnest Western Society. I tend to agree that women have a far wider choice when it comes to styles of clothing, and although there might be a few more impractical garments, this is counteracted by the sheer choice of items available. If a girl walked down the street wearing Jeans, a pair of boxers and a lumberjack's shirt, nobody would bat an eyelid. But you want to see the controversy I caused the other day simply by wearing a dress and high heeled shoes. It simply isn't fair. As for coloured panties, they're just for fun. Heck, I heard superman ones mentioned somewhere earlier in this thread, and I'd kill for a pair of those!

I'm pretty fond of my thin black leather (how cool) tie though. It's probably just a matter of comfort that makes them impractical, and that's all dependant on your neck size.

I would like to round off this post with the statement that I am in fact, not gay.

Amusingly enough - they're underoos - girls panties modled on male ones (and so insanely comfee).

I'm just glad some one invented the bra so all of us women don't have to wear corsets anymore. So much easier to breath in a bra.
