How is what you just described any different than pirates?
In fact, pirates might have the edge in that they do this work in the Caribbean as opposed to Scandinavia.

Yes, Science-man is right. Planet-smashing is so much cooler than atom-smashing. So much more epic than tectonic subduction, and much faster (and apocalyptic) than galactic collisions. But for me it was a toss-up between giant robots and planets and ... well.... GIANT ROBOTS! C'MON people!

Ooh! OOH! What about 3 PLANETARY COLLISIONS ALL AT ONCE?! One of pirates, one of ninjas, and one of giant robots! And what's more, some of the giant robots are empty, so the pirates and ninjas can commandeer them and fight each other AND the self-aware giant robots!
