ADSL from Netspace. They're the same mob that gave me dial up, but six months ago our little community's petition for broadband finally succeeded and the lines were finally laid to reach us out here.
Besides quicker connection, it meant I could have one landline instead of two, so I only have one phone bill to pay now. Works out to save me about $40 a quarter.

I use dialup because faster options are typically two to three times more expensive in my area.

I sorta forgot to add why I'm on dialup before, didn't I? Oh well...
I used dialup in the first place because DSL was slightly out of my price range when I was working, and way out of my price range with the cost of the extra equipment I would have needed.
I use dialup now because my grandma pays for it, so it would be a douchy thing to ask her to spring for the most expensive connection. Dialup is fine for me anyway, since my current connection is incredibly stable.

I connected a telephone jack to the head of this cybernetically-enhanced telepathic kid from the former Soviet Union that I bought off of eBay. In addition to providing nearly instantaneous downloads, he has also been trained by KGB operatives and Soviet parapsychologists to instantly kill anyone on earth by will alone.

Psh, sell-out! Who doesn't have that option?! I used to jack straight into an orphan boy's soul. Practicaly zero lag-time on those things. But that's when I noticed that he was leaking information to third parties, that bastard. So I did the sincible thing and had him banned to hell and switched to Wi-ban.[AOD] wrote:I connected a telephone jack to the head of this cybernetically-enhanced telepathic kid from the former Soviet Union that I bought off of eBay. I'm glad 90's style forum signatures don't exist anymore.

In collegeland I have a university-supplied connection. At the parents' house, we have slow DSL because me and my brother were on the internet all the time, and my parents had to fight us for the phone. SO, when my dad started his home business, things got really rough until I pointed out that the cheapest DSL in the area was only like 5 bucks a month higher than 56k, was faster, could be shared between computers more easily AND freed up the phone line for calls. It's slow for DSL though.
That was more than a sentence--sorry.

You pusillanimous pencil-pusher! I'll have my internet connexion mind-blast you for daring to blaspheme the mighty name of the former Soviet Union![AlmightyPyro] wrote: Psh, sell-out! And besides, everyone who's anyone knows that in the former Soviet Union, soul jacks YOU.

Advanced DS&L has more and more complicated rules in order to needlessly confuse the player . . . I mean, user. It occaisionally adds on new rules that don't conform to the previously established rules just because it can't be bothered to insinuate those rules in a rational manner. It intimidates the average casual user and therefore puts about itself a sort of elitist air, making sure all you mundies out there don't try to get too uppity.[AlmightyPyro] wrote:Is there a difference between ADSL and just plain DSL? I'm not very big on DSL so I dunno.
But in the end, it's ultimately inferior to DSL 3.5, so I wouldn't bother with it.
Existence is a series of catastrophes through which everything barely but continually survives.
