Many a good album already mentioned, some are superb. It's pleasant to see that there aren't a million Revolution (Beatles), Nevermind (Nirvana) or OK Computer (Radiohead) fans out there for once!

I'm gonna have to go wiiiiiiiith:

Hunky Dory by David Bowie, and excellent album with my favourite song ever, Life on Mars.
"It's a god-awful small affair..." *cough* ahem, sorry.

Hmm, guess I should have been more careful with my wording, and should have said favorite instead of best. Ah well, interesting picks still.

Like I said. Stories From the City, Stories from the Sea by PJ Harvey is my favorite record. Yeah.

Today I am torn between Ted Leo & the Pharmacists "Shake the Sheets" and Rufus Wainwright "Want One," since I just bought those two albums today, and they're both very excellent. :D

There were better Christine?s, and not just for the movie soundtrack - I like cast recordings better.

My "album"... Evita. Two disc version. Cast Recording. Can't remember who sang for Evita. NOT Madonna *shudder*

Patti Lupone?

I didn't mind Madonna's singing on that soundtrack, actually.

The Beatles "Let It Be"

It never lets me down. They just rock out and have fun. It's one of the only albums that's consistently good from beginning to end without some sort of running theme.

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned "Tommy" by The Who yet, speaking of theme albums.

Tommy is neat, but I wouldn't want that as my only cd on a desert island.

I'm torn between "So Long, Astoria" by The Ataris, "Elevator" by Hot Hot Heat; and "Give Up" by The Postal Service.

They're all really good.

"Give Up" is an awesome album. I actually kinda like The Postal Service better than Death Cab.

Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill

I don't usually buy CDs, but I bought hers and I enjoyed it, so...

I don't believe in music. I think it's a myth perpetuated by the media.

*runs away giggling maniacally*

Hmmmm... Depending on my mood the greastest album is currently "Beautiful Freak" by the Eels, "Hot Fuss" by the Killer, "Toxicity" by SOFD, "Fin de Siecle" by Divine Comedy, The American Beauty Soundtrack... Oops... I don't have a favourite, ALL my albums are favourites for different moods and time. I wouldn't buy them otherwise...

Actually, the Let It Be sessions were notorious for being an incredibly painful and agonizing experience. They all hated each other at this point, and George actually quit for about an afternoon. Definitely no fun to be had. This, of course, is completely irrelevant to how the music makes you feel, though, so rock on.

I remember once I heard an interesting electro-jazz playing in a record store.

Me: Excuse me, what is this playing?
Worker, disinterested: Huuh?
Me: What is this group that is playing just now?
*Worker mumbles something uncomprehensive*
Me: Excuse me?
*Worker mumbles even more uncomprehensive*
Me: Uh, ok...
