I'm Dutch and.. uhm... you know, I'm not sure what the other half is. English, maybe. I think my mom was part Scot.

And that estonian branch was Swedish some fourhundred years ago or so, I think. Haven't really looked up the family history that extensively.

I'm 100% American.

Technically, if you go back to my grandparents I'm about 25% german, 25% hungarian, 25% english, and 25% Irish. That makes me look fairly germanic, or so I'm told.

50% german 25% scottish mostly probably 25% ??? (possibly armenian)

For simplicities sake, I tend to just tell people I've got a german background. Unless I'm at a ren fair in a kilt in which case I say scottish. :wink:

Oooh, it's the nationality thread, now! Usually, when a thread is derailed, it's significantly less appropriate...

Anyway, my mother's side of the family is a bunch of German-speaking Russian Mennonites who came to Canada a couple of generations ago after losing all their land and most of their belongings... My dad's side is a bit of a mystery, as my grandmother was adopted, but my grandfather was, as far as I know, just a generic American. :P
