Flux Capacitor 50 Years Old Today!

On this date, 50 years ago, Doctor Emmit Lathrup Brown conceptualized the most amazing invention of our (or any) time - the Flux Capacitor! What is everyone doing to celebrate this incredible event? Or, rather, does anyone have any interesting stories to share about time travel?

(Thanks to Jim North for bringing this up in chat. :D)

Oh, if it wasn't for that bathroom sink, I don't know where we would be...

Emmett's very cool, but he's not a patch on the real Doctor.

So this was what people were doing in 1985, other than conceiving future 'spacers.

Oh hell yeah, Dr Who all the way! I can't wait to see what they'll do with the next season. I used to watch the old ones as a kid...and it was old then, too.

But Emmet does rock, too. The movies were brilliant. Well, the first two were anyhow.

Flux capacitor, I salute thee!

I still fully expect there to be flying cars in 10 years.

If everyone starts wearing their jeans inside out, we can be the ones to acutally start a trend.

Time travel already exists. It's called waiting.

For a moment I saw the thread title and said to myself "That's real? I thought that was something made up in Back to the Future...." and then I clicked the link.... I feel very very very blond at the moment.

in other news, I just relized that so many of you youngins never saw these beautiful movies in the theatre..... damn kids.

I still remember being in complete shock when when the 2nd one ended with all those clips to the third one, begging mom to let us go back and see the thrid and not understanding that it wasn't out yet. "But they just showed us parts of it! doesn't that mean it's done?"

i remember seeing a special on t.v. after the second one came out about the technology of hover boards, i was really convinced they were going to be coming out. Of course I have trouble with skateboards which are firmly planted on the ground, i can't imagine being able to do much of anything with a hoverboard.

Truly this is the modern age.

It's all about the 1.21 gigawatts.
