Trust me, if you've just purchased a table and are able to draw anything that looks even remotely like what you were trying to draw, you are doing very well.
I wish I'd kept some of my first scribblings. They were PAINFUL.
*Edit* Bwhahaha, table. I meant "tablet". Blargh, it is late.

I'm new to the whole drawing thing... so this is so discouraging to like, be able to draw something with a pencil and then have it all fecked up with a tablet. AAagh.
But I'll persevere. I had a go on this tablet last week (it belongs to my cousin) and I was a lot worse then.

I did it in Photoshop, using the set of brushes that came with my tablet. Actually, just the one... Anyway, the piece has about 30 layers -- I just layered on colour, with shading getting closer to black and red with successive layers. The background is just swirly paint crap.... so lazy... :3
I asked because the coloring of the character looked kinda like colored pencils, but the background looked more like it was digitally-drawn...yeah.
This was me trying to sketch something for the COMING SOON thread... uh, Zahara and Hana from the comic... that will happen... when I write it... :| Unless Laura has other ideas...
