It used to be during lectures. I used to have some classes that were long, boring, and you didn't need to take notes for them. They were perfect for getting a comic at the very least inked. That was back when I updated neigh-daily. Failing that, though, late at night is good. I always feel more creative with sleep deprivation.

Since I'm an incurable night owl, I do most of the work on my comic between 9pm and the wee hours of the morning. Of course, now that I'm unemployed, I'm free to work on it whenever I like! Like say... now! I'm lettering the FSM day strip for my comic as we speak/type/whatever.

As an aside: neigh-daily? What are you? A drawing horse?

The best time to work on the comic is when there is something else you really should be doing, but you are ignoring that to do the comic.

I'm not sure what the best time is...

...but I usually end up staying up until late in the morning the night before drawing my comic.

The best time for me is during lunch and during my break. I don't really have much to do during that hour and a half each weekday, so drawing my comic, or just practicing, is great at that time.

Then, if I am a good little web comicker and finish my drawings at lunch time, I can use my evenings to spend time with the GF, with friends or play video games. If I'm not a good little web comicker, though, then if the GF and I are watching a movie at home, or some TV or something, I'll draw then.

I can get a comic in at any time, but when I'm bored is when a lot of my creative side pours out. It's the magic hour of comic-makin' 8)

Definitely at night, cause my days are filled with other, more important stuff. Who needs sleep?

Incidentally, I haven't drawn a comic in over a month, except for the war jam comics... Oh well.

I did a lot of comicking in class in high school... I had a "data management" class that required virtually no note-taking, and a biology class in which all the notes were pre-photocopied for us. My "writer's craft" class consisted entirely of creative writing; I'd usually write poetry in the evenings, instead, and work on my comic in school, since it's always easier to draw when you're not supposed to. :D

Now, I actually have to ... y'know ... pay attention...
