I have a lvl 37 Warrior, lvl 17 druid, on the Sargeras server. I have a couple mid level guys on other servers too.

WoW has been the single biggest detriment to my comic drawing.

I did the same thing with my everquest character. Had huge amounts of platinum and all sorts of nice items I had legitimately earned.
They still call that character the 'Bank of Ryan' and make frequent withdrawls from it.

It's a shame it leeches so much time up playing games like that nyu, especially if you're using a modem and your mum is yelling at you to get off of the internet so she can use the phone. I stopped playing WoW because it took me about 6 hours to download patches (my pc is really crap) and really jerky when walking about nyu, especially when you get into the big city places. . .
Then again, it does that with loads of other of the games nowadays... <must get a better pc>

I'd love to but I dont own a credit card. And those monthly ones are pretty costly. I used to play Ragnarok Online but all the bots sucked the fun out of it. Nowadays I generally avoid mmorpgs coz I'm afraid my addiction to it will kick in. ^^

the cost factor sort of repels me from the game also. why pay to suffer the possibility of dealing with obnoxious those that are the norm for any online environment? if i had a group of friends to play the game with, then i will be more willing then.

Feh. So, in other words, you didn't have the patience? RO's a bitch to level in two or three level ranges... some people solve this by botting. The rest have to suck it up.
@ Runescape: Tried it. RO is superior, IMO, though not free. As a general rule, I avoid games like runescape/Gunbound/ (and there's one more I can't remember the name of.... it's done in flash?) where you can play for free, or pay to get more, as that leads to an elite (with money) and lower class situation, which I find depressing. A MMORPG that I play needs to be all free or all pay.
And I don't have to worry about an addiction to MMORPGS taking over my social life, as I don't have one to be taken over...

Me either...I like my games more structured. I like a specific quest and storyline. Although I'm sure my brother would love them...he's the type who always just wanders around in a game not even bothering with the various objectives you're supposed to be pursuing.

My biggest gripe about MMORPGs is similar. I'm very anti-social and I want to do the ingame quests alone and not with a bunch of gamers who have done them twenty times over and use abbreviations for everything.
I don't mind there being other people IN the game, either as background noise or competitors or threats, but I don't like playing with people in general. And most MMORPGs allow you to sort of solo, but make certain things damn imposible to do on your own no matter how good or careful you are. And I don't like that.

LFG UBRS trsh mobs ND MT, MH, AOE MG.
And it's still an mmorpg, so that socializing with people with 2 braincells is sadly needed.
Thank god wow has very little of it.

Sortelli doesn't like dealing with online roleplayers? Who'd've guessed??
I've been avoiding MMORPGs with all my might. I get little enough accomplished as it is.
