Question on Animated Cartoons

Now this is just a general question, but does anyone know anything about making an animated cartoon in their spare time? I looked around online and I saw some suggestions to try quicktime. I myself have a few movie making programs and could in theory draw up the still frames, dump them into the editor and then add sound later.

I know M&M did their amazingly cool Mooman video recently, so if you happen to be around to say how you did that I'd be quite interested. =]

I just want to know how because if I got good at it I could have a lot of fun and hopefully entertain you guys too at the same time if I learn enough. I'll keep looking though.

Image Oh, don't ask us for advice. We are totally incompetent. Image We just used the Windows Movie Maker thingie that came with the computer and hoped that it would work. (Fscker kept crashing every five minutes, but that's a problem with Michelle's suck-ass laptop, and not the program... we think.)

Either way, if'n you can manage it, we suggest you go for a more animation-friendly program. The WMM is really more geared towards video footage.

I have Pinnacle 7 and 8 which are both not too bad. I suppose what would drive me up a wall in the making of all the frames... I'd shoot for a minimum of 15 per second, but I can take all the tips from Anime and reuse stuff over and over making my life easier.

That and I can hire a team of a hundred workers! Easy!

I've made two music videos in FALSH.

Music video 1 : Hostess with the Mostest, Frank Black

Music video 2 : We're All Clones, Smashing Pumpkins

I think they came out very good.
Put the second one on NewGrounds and it got daily feature.
