Retarded thread:]

Post by Nutcracker »

There is this phenomenon in human brain I can't understand. Let someone explain it to me: Why do people complain about things they get for free??

Like those who say "Windows bad!" "I hate you, Bill!" but use illegal copies. :o Helooo! *knock knock on the head* You've stolen it, goddamnit! Bill should hate YOU.

And the guy who makes Badly drawn kitties.
When I tried to upload today's comic, KeenSpace was down. In other news, humans breathe oxygen.

I think it's officially time I sent out a call for suggestions for non-KeenSpace hosting. Anyone have a good idea? I'm tired of having my comic's hosting in the hands of STriker RedWolf. It's like going to Edward Scissorhands for urology.
I mean WTF?! Maybe he would run ComicGenesis better, I don't know. I don't give a damn how much profit they get from the ads. I've never paid a cent for the service, so I never complain. Dead again? Oh well, there's always tommorow.

...And hearing bad things about my beloved ComicGenesis always pisses me off

If you want an actual answer, it's because when someone gets something for free, they believe they either are entitled to it, or that they earned it somehow. Thus, when there are problems with the free thing, they feel either gyped or betrayed.

Sure they do. Feeling gyped or betrayed leads to resentment.

The problem is, lots of folks don't think things through.

What pisses me off is when I pay a set fee for something, it doesn't work, I complain, and someone says, "Oh, yeah... like that fee really covers everything."

They set the fees, not me.

What a fuckwad. Anyone can afford hosting, so he should do so.

It's SO much better when a webhost you're actually PAYING FOR goes down for hours and hours.

I have come to the conclusion that humanity can be summed up in three words: stupid, selfish, horny. The instance in question is yet another example of the horror that happens when two of these three characteristics combine.

And, of course, everything I've ever said about Nutcracker shows what happens when the first and the third combine.

Other possible answer is that he's some schoolkid who never had a real job in his life so, among other reason, doesn't have a clue about how hard it is to maintain a site that size.

If people complain about Windows, tell them Linux is free. FreeBSD is... well... free. FreeDOS is ... again... free. Don't like your OS? Too lazy to fix the problem? Too poor to buy the one you're using? Does your keyboard have one letter? ('R' ya pirate!) You have no room to complain yet we will listen to you do so anyway because you won't let us cover our ears.

I've paid nothing for the OS or the program I use to make my comic with. I did not even pirate them. How many people can say that? I paid $40 initially to get my comic hosted online before I got a Keenspace site. Since then, I have paid nothing for hosting and I'm happy with the experience even though I'm currently missing two updates and will have missed roughly 6 updates before I can copy files again.

I could pay for some nice hosting and make my own comic viewer scripts, no problem. I'm too lazy to do that so I'm stuck with what I have.

I stopped reading BDK when he killed Fisk over a tiff with the guy who draws Better Days. I still read Better Days. So... it goes to show whose side I decided to be on, I guess.

While I've never read the comic, I find it very ironic that the artist of a comic called Badly Drawn Kitties is complaining about the poor quality of something.

If I had known the feeling was mutual, Nutcracker, I would surely have groped you by now, especially since last time I checked, you were naked.

I like reality shows where people are given literally the chance of a lifetime to get lots of money, instant fame, etc, etc, and all they do is bitch and moan.
I watched the one show where the guys were competing for the UFC title match and laughed my ass off at the one guy who did nothing but cry about having to cut weight.

/me goes back to cartoon network and animal planet.

So, so, true.

Which leads to: Why the FUCK do people think they are entitled to something they got for free? I just don't understand how any person with a BIT of common sense could look at something they got free that isn't perfect and WHINE about it. I mean... it was FREE! You wouldn't have had ANYTHING If it weren't given to you... My only possible explanation is that people are born stupid, and it takes much, much training and education and a bit of luck for them to outgrow it...

Okay, fine, I just posted here without adding any real value to the discussion so I could rant about stupid people.

I find that when stealing something, it's best to steal only the top of the line items. No reason to compare prices when you have the same chances of getting caught!! The lesson here: Take only the finest goods and you won't have to worry about as many problems with your item.
Now with that cleared up, does anyone else feel it's okay to steal from Goodwill?
