Why are these popular? I brought a packet from the supermarket and I thought they were a fairly average snack. They were not even good value for money.

Never heard of them. They obviously haven't become popular enough to hit the school lunchboxes yet. When I get offered one by a ten year old, then they've made it.

Don't you know? That's what they do with the leftover stick from the tootsie-roll pop. They're like anitiques, man, of course they're more expensive than regular snacks!
(BTW, 1,369 licks to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop... I counted.)

I used to eat them when I was 4 or 5 years old. They are kinda cheap here.

Thank you.
They look fairly tasty, but not nearly as good as milk-chocolate dipped raspberries.

What's so great about them?! They taste like Milano cookies!

I enjoy them, but I think much of their appeal is that they're Japanese.
There is something called "Man's Pocky". I don't know what the difference is. And there is huge pocky as well, but I didn't want to pay for it. There's a Japanese mall not far from my house that has this stuff.

The difference is dark chocolate.
No, it doesn't make any sense.

my route to work involves passing two Philipino grocery stores, and they sell pocky there at a "reasonable" price, but if I eat anything japanese I prefer eatting their wafer sticks or their applechocolate filled koala bears.

Mmm. Almond Pocky.
But yeah. They are far too expensive here, so I only buy them once in a blue moon.
Personally I enjoy them because they are a light dessert compared to the heavily sweet-large-portioned crap around the area.
