What's the best or worst excuse you've ever had for missing an update?

This would be mine. Best or worst, I'm still deciding.

Well it was an uneventful day and all of the sudden I noticed that my cock was on fire! And I was running around trying to grab it! It was so irritating! And everything was just going wrong!..But some good came of it as I had some tasty rooster feet that night!
But the loss caused me to go into hiatus for...about a year.

I don't give excuses anymore.
Mine were pretty much "hangover", which people can read about in my LJ.

Or could, were it not for the fact my folks read my LJ, and given the fact I'm under their roof I don't want them to find out about everything I do.

I've been good. I haven't missed one since I joined Keenspace. My excuse is I use the first days of my holidays to good effect. Speaking of which...time to draw a few more...holidays started this afternoon...

I am an aircraft maintainer in the U.S. Air Force, My three best excuses are as follows:

#3 I'm on 12 hour shifts that run for 14 hours eight days a week until further notice.

#2 I've been given orders to Iraq. See you in 4 to 8 months.

#1 Taking time off from everything to rethink my career choises.

...I'm beginning to think that I may be in a little over my head with trying to do a comic.
I can sum up everything I've learned about life in three words: It goes on...

Well....

One time, I thought it was a good idea to jump into a fountain at one o'clock in the morning in 60 degree weather, resulting in a rather nasty and lingering cold. The same day at 2 a.m. I decided to jump off of a ten foot balcony, spraining my wrist in the process. My drawing arm was in a brace for 4 weeks.

Sadly enough, this is a true story.

If you were wondering, I was completely sober at the time.

The laws of physics have been updated to the new 2005 edition, and I haven't had time to read all the addendums yet.

... that, or the whole 'getting married' thing.

Crossfire: "Thank you! That explains it very nicely, and in a language that someone other than a physicist can understand..."

Worst excuse: doing a nine-page fanart for Coolville.

Best excuse: Hurricane Lili.

The one I'm gonna use on Monday is pretty good:
"You see, the subscription-based site my archives are on is down, and if I go on updating, getting my main site and the archives in synch will give me a headache, and I don't like having a headache, so no update today or tomorrow".

Except that I'll probably update with filler anyway.

The only times I've missed an update is when keenspace was down and didn't update. Should I miss an update some day I will probably claim laziness, not too interesting, i know.
