Evil vs Good

Postby Kris X on Sat May 22, 2004 9:15 pm

I prefer being evil. So much more fun, though I have been caught walking old ladies across the street... It was just my Grannie, I swear. I tend to scare people with my collection of trenchcoats and jackets in 100 degree weather, but I'm a softy-evil and the sun is evil-er to my pale skin. Eep. /.\

Think you are evil? Go here and look for the "How evil are you test".

And yeah, good's for the best. Good guys may finish last, but at least we'll msot likely finish. Sometimes I may be accused of being stubborn, or selfish, or even stupid, but evil, never. It just doesn't cut it for me. Give me peace and a couple of friends to enjoy it with, and The World IS Okay.

Do not confuse the drive to action youth gives you with evil; just try to apply it constructively.
Faith is what credulity becomes when it finally achieves escape velocity from the constraints of terrestrial discourse- reasonableness, internal coherence, civility, and candor. Thus, the men who commited the atrocities of September 11 were neither cowards nor lunatics of any sort, but Men of Faith- perfect faith- and this, it must finally be acknowleged, is a terrible thing to be.

[Zapp Brannigan]"What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?"[/Zapp Brannigan]

Evil is an extreme perspective rather than any kind of actual state of being. As soon as folks start using terms like 'Evil' in reference to real life my eyes lid and my listening abilities start to shut down. I use it in jest all the time, but I don't believe in it. I believe in 'ignorant' 'sick' 'twisted' and all of those terms, but semantics wise... Evil is just a manipulative word invented by frightened politicians/clergy to manipulate/convert/control the masses.

Which is such an evil thing to do. :P

[Eddie Izzard] So it
As authors it is our duty to create lovable enticing characters, and do horrible evil things to them.
I don't mind straight people, as long as they act gay in public.

I'm told that I role-play evil people very well, and that I write villains in stories in a satisfactory manner, and when I shout at stuff that pisses me off (like the computer, or vidgames, or the like . . . almost never other people) I apparently scare the people around me . . .

But I'm actually a Very Nice Guy(tm). I tend to get along with most people, I try my best to be polite to everyone, and don't go out of my way to do nasty, horrible things to folks.

The only "evil" thing about me might be the fact that I don't give a damn about the vast majority of things outside my immediate area. If something doesn't concern me personally, I really don't care.

Which makes me part of the problem, not the solution.

Good, dammit.
I don't even think I'm as good as I'd like to be.
From my life experience, it's easy to be evil, specially in tough situations. Good requires effort and patience. Therefore, no reason to respect evil people.

Badass good.
I'm like good with a leather jacket.

I also thought being good was cooler than being evil. I mean, you always got to be so much more badass when you're good.
Case in point...

Neutral, chaotic.

"1.Scan in high res 2.tweak with curves, levels or something to clean up the scan (or use channel mixer to remove blue pencil lines) 3.Add colour using a layer set to multiply. 4.Add wordbubbles and text as vector shapes. 5. Merge all layers. 6.resize to the web size. 7. Export/Save for Web" that's all I know about webcomicking.

Use that to determine how evil your website is. There are other fun things to see and do there as well.

As for me, I've decided I'm about 83% evil....for now...

<a href="http://homokaasu.org/gematriculator/?referer" target="_blank"><img src="http://homokaasu.org/pics/g/e76.jpg" width="175" height="80" alt="This site is certified 76% EVIL by the Gematriculator" /></a>

Incidentally, results for VT's site:
<a href="http://homokaasu.org/gematriculator/?referer" target="_blank"><img src="http://homokaasu.org/pics/g/g56.jpg" width="175" height="80" alt="This site is certified 56% GOOD by the Gematriculator" /></a>

Apparently, my site is more evil than VileTerror's.

and Microsoft's is only 50-50.
This is just another proof that "Gematriculator" is miscalibrated.

Neutral evil is a fun alignment indeed. It's like evil light. Evil when you feel like it. Evil by proxy.

I'm true Neutral, at least thats what I think. I think its best not to be to good all the time, and being to evil all the time, makes the ego inflate a little to high (must be all those great plans eh?) so being neutral is the best... plus no one expects it when you pick pocket them!

This might help some folks figure out what alignment they are:

http://neppyman.irulethe.net/dndwho/

I'm Chaotic Good, myself. "Chaotic Good characters are independent types with a strong belief in the value of goodness. They have little use for governments and other forces of order, and will generally do their own things, without heed to such groups."

If we're going with RPG-style moral compass, I think Palladium Books has it more right: there's no such thing as neutrality, it's just selfishness. Good people put what they consider important before themselves, evil persons truly enjoy inflicting misery and pain on others, and selfish people are always looking out for good ol' Number One. Pahctorri pompous justification for "neutrality" proves this point perfectly.
