That all sounds very disappointing.Jim North wrote:They don't have orks, the races that are included have odd abilities (elves regenerate health, trolls turn to stone when damaged, etc.), the spells used are either impossible or otherwise not present in the books, it takes place in 2031 rather than the 2050-70 era (which wouldn't be too bad, except they're pretty much eschewing events as they were stated in the official history), and it's just FPS combat (a la Tribes, I believe) with no actual, y'know, shadowrunning. It is supposed to come out on PC, but personally, I hope it goes vaporware.
Oh roleplaying games, what have you done?

The thing about the death penalty is, whether it deters anyone else or not, at least we know THAT guy won't do it again!
I disagree with all your creative cautious-driving-enforcements. I've never had a serious accident, although I got hit by a car riding a bike and some woman once backed into me at a stop sign and smashed my headlight. In both cases, it wasn't reckless driving or anything like that in either party's case, the bike accident was both my fault and the drivers', and the woman who smashed my headlight was just being dumb because she decided she didn't want to turn right and couldn't see my little tiny car behind her. I don't think that in either of these cases anyone deserved to be obliterated in a fiery ball of death.
The problem with crime is that there really are so many gray areas, caused by the fact that people are just people, and nearly everyone has some sort of redeeming quality.
Of course we could be like that one planet in Star Trek TNG with the people that had the death penalty for everything, no matter how small the infraction, and with any luck we'll kill Wesley Crusher someday. There's always hope!
