Gotcha.
Thanks for the heads-up. ;)

*wanders around the forum aimlesly... finds new person thread... thinks what a fine opporunity to introduce self*

Ahoy thar! Enjoy your stay, and avoid the chips and dip in the corner. (you really don't want to know what happened to the dip...) Should talk of mansex, beer, war, love, hate, AK-47s, large novelty dildos, a badger, several Doombees, urination, lack of pants, that little plastic thing on the end of shoelaces, and Twinkies or any combination of the previous should arise... it's best go with the flow.

Should a thread's topic shift from "hello" to "Rainbow Bright Porn" in less than five posts, it's normal. Don't mind that... (it's happened before.. I swear)

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go find my pants.

(also, don't mind the in-jokes and mandatory hazing. It used to be a lot worse, but folks have gotten better at not scaring new folks away by stuffing them into The Box. Yes The Box is used as a proper noun around here... it's an archaic tradition. Now get in The Box, newb)

[edit] The word mcDuffies is used to represent both the forum poster, and the male groin. Just a head's up...

Spiders are ghey!
I doubt it. They'd die out after a generation unless some of them were at least bi.

Also, I never got poked, or stuffed in the Box, or any other thing a typical newb has to go through. Must be my sky high charisma.
I set my ATM card's number to "0001" because I'm number one!

It helps that you never made a "hi I'm new" thread. People who just assimilate into the forum rarely get hazed. I never got Boxed either.

So far, I am impressed by Dwight's lack-of-being-put-off-by-the-injokes. He's also got a good grip on postwhoring, what with posting a "thank you" every couple posts.
This is going in my notebook titled "Things I Didn't Know about Surface Dwellers."

I don't mind at all, man. I'm like Bruce Willis in "Unbreakable."

"Postwhoring." Hmm... I call it being friendly. I think that if I responded to each post--that would most definitely constitute postwhoring.

Thanks, Vorticus! I am impressed with the amount of genuinely nice people on this forum. Let me tell you: there are several forums out there where you get the impression that you are an intruder--and not wanted.
It's refreshing to find a forum that is not like that. :)

To be honest, you've been so darn nice and polite with this introduction that it's impossible to be snarky at you. You should write a book!

Welcome! While enjoying your stay in the box, how about checking out my comic? ^_~

HA! Perhaps I'll do that.

Well, I'm just a happy-go-lucky guy who loves telling stories and making comics. I feel most at home with those who share this passion.
Now the critics on the other hand...

I will do that, Linkara!
I want to check out everyone's comics, but between school and freelance writing gigs, I am slammed at the moment.
I will do it, though. Promise. ;)

Pfft. That's like threatening to tie me up and whip me.

It's just not an effective threat.

Not much of a threat. But it's fun to do.
