I agree with what Laemkral mentioned about his english class with some of my own addition, super-over-analyzing to the point that any enjoyment is sucked out of the subject. *leaves*

It's not something you can turn on or off. Whether you're going to analyze things or just accept them on like/don't like basis is depending on your personality and perception of the world. I think that there's nothing wrong with either of those and none of them means that the person is enjoying things less.

On that note, we watched a video in my Sociology class about the WTO protests, as taped from the protestors side, and by the end of the movie I'd analyzed their actions and strategies from a tactical standpoint. I didn't realize I did it until the teacher pointed it out to me afterwards. Some people do just unconsciously analyze things.
