I guess I should have phraised that sentance better.

I meant "Played Zelda and Megaman AS THE GAMES I COULD REMEMBER...and OTHER titles that were obviously too obscure to recall." Megaman rocks. Megaman should never be obscure.

...unless it's a megaman sprite comic. THEN it sucks.

Hm. I've seen games with better plots than FFX, but I think it just depends on how many games you've played. A lot of the Atlus titles have better plots, and the Persona series had far more nuanced and developed characters. The new Earthbound game has better story, too. I highly suggest these. (Well, the release of the new Earthbound game is pending.)

Loved FF7:AC just for the action sequences. That's all I go back to watch now after seeing the whole thing. The only complaint I have is the amount of time given to those two henchman which should have been given to characters I really wanted to see, namely all the secondary characters who only got to fight the big monster at the end.

Yeah, some of the more interesting characters hardly said anything. I wanted more from Yuffie, Cid and Red XIII.

What bothers me more than anything about final fantasy is all this poorly thought out spiritual bs that seems to have become a halmark of japanese storytelling, least I run into it more often than I would like. It's like they are often trying for profound and usually just end up being silly.

Another gripe, none of the motives of the badguys in advent children made a lick of sense to me, they wanted jenova because they wanted sephiroth back? Why did they want that? Oh, right, badguys- they must want bad things to happen.

Final fantasy VII was the game that actually got me started on rpgs and I've had some fun with the genre since then. I really do wish they would let the game die, but I don't see that happening, square/enix likes milking the same game for as much money as they can. Good buisness, but not good for creativity. My understanding is that there is a ps3 remake in the works. This will likely destroy my fond thoughts of the game forever.

And what's with them making every new main character have a strange weapon? Gunblade? Buster sword? That retarded double blade(it would break so fast) or cloud's new muilti sword? The video I saw from 13 had a gun/sword hybrid that looked rather silly. Does someone figure that if a gun is cool and a sword is cool then putting them together is twice as cool?

Also, I think red XIII said like five words in the entire movie. The had a rather large cast and didn't do jack with most of the characters.

I almost got the impression that Red's voice actor was supposed to be some incredibly famous guy or something, and people were supposed to yell Holy Shit over that one line.

I also have an overactive imagination.

Edit: Please note that I've only seen the subtitled version. I have no idea who does his voice in the US version.

Not sure, either. Actually, I would advise seeing the dub. It's actually quite good, save for a few instances, and makes everything make MUCH more sense.
