I read that as "Handier" rather than "Harder"

Wow, for once on the forums a misinterpretation made it less dirty...

Hmm, I think I'll use my first post to show how twisted I am!
Life is a wretched horrible wench goddess and I love it and want to be just like it when I grow up.

"Now get in the box!"

... no, I wasn't actually saying that to the newbie, that's my latest contribution.

Death by box? Cool, that's my favorite cause of death! (Although I'd always imagined my death box'd be flickering and have pictures on it... nevermind.)
I changed my mind- the meaning of life is to get in the box. Am I supposed to be enjoying this?

Life:

"The fundamental nature of man is greed. But greed is perhaps the wrong word for it. It is a love of life. The evil jealously hoard their love, stealing from others to feed and justify it, while the best of us seek to help our compatriots find theirs, sometimes at the expense of our own."

No, "greed" is the right word for it. It is the fundimental nature of all pain and torment. There are six deadly sins, and they all are forms of greed. Love should never be used in conjunction with greed for it is the polar opposite of all that greed is.

I disagree. One man's greed is another's love. Is it wrong to try to take what you desire?

To be honest, I can't think of a situation where it's not wrong.

Greed involves, as you point out, the act of "taking" something. Which means it probably belonged to someone else. A mugger has greed/lust for your money, he takes it.

You're thinking along the lines of "Man cannot take what is freely given." I see what you're thinking.

I guess I mean greed in more general terms, where it doesn't necessarily imply taking something from another person. Some things in life are free, and taking them doesn't mean someone else isn't getting it.

Yeah, ya' got it. Even though I didn't say it very clearly. :)

But dude, you need to use a better word than "greed" for what you're talking about. I'm too tired to think of anything better right now...pity me.

Because I look back at the history of humanity and greed is the root of so much death and dispaire. I tend to have a strong emotional reaction when I see the word, and I don't mean the warn-n-fuzzy kind. When I sit down to write about a villian I always start with what is he/she greedy for because that determines all of his/her actions.

I didn't used to think that there was Evil in the world, then I learned about Greed.

Life is a basket of apples. Sometimes nice, sometimes wormy, and when it starts to go bad your whole basket goes to shit quickly.
