I kept calling it "wedding of figaro" (since that's what the music was called wasnt it?) couldn't remember what the bugs cartoon was called... too lazy to look it up.
Actually, the music is "The Barber of Seville", by Gioachino Rossini.
"The Marriage of Figaro" music (by Mozart) was in that one cartoon where the blonde opera singer ticked off Bugs, so he posed as "Leopold" to make him sing the extra-long note until the theater collapsed.
Though I can see how you might be confused, since the play "The Marriage of Figaro" was kind of a sequel to "The Barber of Seville".
And because at the end he drops elmer into a cake saying "marriage of figaro" or something
but yeah.
I'm no good with names it seems.
Looney Tunes will stick around forever. The characterizations, the artwork, the music, the timing... it took the best of animation up to that time and improved on it (they also had considerable artistic freedom relative to today's standards). Essentially, they had fun. Watching a lot of today's animation makes me feel like the people doing it are probably not having fun. At least not on the level of the Looney Tunes staff. But there was plenty of crap back in the 1940s and 50s as well. Just because Looney Tunes came from that era doesn't mean that the entire era was gold. The crap falls into the cracks. Every era has its great and terrible art. It's hardest to see the great stuff of one's own era because of all the noise. But something will emerge as great. Though I'm not sure what...

I miss when artists drew BACKGROUNDS. And I miss when comedy was funny. Yeah I could say I miss the old stuff.
You do realise it's the kind of animation I learned to do in school, right?
But I agree, hand drawn animation, while tedious and long to do, has a quality that today's 2Ds animation (with model all linked together where you simply move the arm in one frame, the one in the other one and the computer does the rest) is lacking.
