Luckily the french allied with the local amerindians who helped them to survive (hooray for pine sap brew!). Heck, they even learned how to fight wars in the area from them (guerilla style, not all in row and turn by turn style.)MixedMyth wrote:The first colony that the British tried to install in North America was placed at a latitude equal to that of England because they figured that the climate would be similar. This is Toronto weather, but I believe Montreal is pretty close to the same, usually just a couple degrees colder.

That's ok. The First People systematically killed off all our really cool giant fauna in North America. So really, it was karma. I could have owned a whole colony of attack badgers ten feet tall, were it not for Native Americans.Phact0rri wrote:Everyone used the First People to survive.Ti-Phil wrote:Luckily the french allied with the local amerindians who helped them to survive (hooray for pine sap brew!). Ahaha! Today I got a callback about the job, which means I passed the initial test.

Maybe I'll do that, but I'm afraid that a French speaking person will pick up the phone and then I'll be lost and confused...MixedMyth wrote:... try returning the call? It'll show initiative!

Seriously call back and they'll figure out what you need. I got interviews by just calling back. Now I need just to get an actual job.Mo wrote:Maybe I'll do that, but I'm afraid that a French speaking person will pick up the phone and then I'll be lost and confused...MixedMyth wrote:... try returning the call? archaeologists have found out out that those attack badgers were actually primitive war droids engineered by Mayans.Rkolter wrote:That's ok. Do the Mayans know this? And if so, do they still have the schematics? Because I totally want a mechanized attack badger now.Phact0rri wrote:archaeologists have found out out that those attack badgers were actually primitive war droids engineered by Mayans.Rkolter wrote:That's ok. Nah, you have Eastern canada weather which is described as aboveTerotrous wrote:Since it's so far from the Equator, Canada's weather is quite extreme. I just came up with another question: What is the climate like in that area? I have of course heard about cold winters in Canada, but does it get hot in the summer? And just HOW cold are the winters?
This is Toronto weather, but I believe Montreal is pretty close to the same, usually just a couple degrees colder.
Western Canada weather which is much dryer in the winter, but less temperature extremes.
Then you have Vancouver and Victoria which rarely get snow, and when they do it lasts for a few days. They do however get a lot of rain.
Atlantic canada gets some very extreme winter weather.

Re: Canada! Canada People!
good thing I didn't do that, because it was a woman picking up the phone and that would have confused me sexually.McDuffies wrote:Just imagine you're calling to ask a guy on a date.
But I WAS supposed to talk to a guy, only he wasn't at work today, so he will call me back.
Seems they are interested, if the phone interview goes well I might end up going there for 6 months... CG meet-up in Montréal anyone?
