How about a peculiar international facisnation with a picture of some smiling woman? I'd say that's a pretty extensive (and peculiar) effect of the Italian rennaisance. :wink:

doesn't anatomy and perspective go hand in hand? I mean without knowing perspective, you cannot accurate place a properly measured body in a three d space, as antomy relies on understanding the proper space, especially when we bring in foreshortening.

<KittyKatBlack> You look deranged. But I mean that in the nicest way possible. ^_^;

Well, speaking for myself, I would definately suck even more than I do now if I didn't know basic perspective. In fact, I've just brought home a pile of books on perspective from the library in order to further minimize my suck. Well, theoretically, anyway.

That being said, perspective IS a very important tool for any artist, even those who claim not to need it. Even if it is usually attributed to great dramatic backgrounds, perspective is used in everything. Characters, everyday objects - even if you don't do backgrounds you'll still need some basic perspective for almost any comic, even if it is just for drawing a matchstick box held by one of the characters. Perspective is so integral to the way art is made in the Western tradition that it can't just be left out.
Warning: This poster regularly makes unintentionally sexual posts. Or at least "unintentional" is what she claims...

Or learn it, mess it up, throw your sketchbook out the window. Either one works. Image

The funny thing is, existence of perspective (foreshortening in particular) allows more freedom in anatomy. Helps you not having to measure the length of the art with a ruler every time.

The plural of Drow is Drow. If you're going to try to taunt me into dismembering you, at least do it with a measure of dignity and proper grammar.

I cannot be had! I smell jeliously that grows on your trees! HA!

Not only could I do a trimetric perspective in under 5 minutes with only a straight edge, but I can slanderize drows while doing it! That's what keeps the women at bay; smooth talkin', quick drawin', and beatin' up on the little guys. 8-) 8-) <TOO cool.
Yeah. THAT'S who keeps the women at bay. Image

BAH! It's easy! It's the most realistic way to draw somthing with convincing perspective without taking a photo of an object.

Look, I'll show you how easy it is.
That's actually pretty neat. Maybe I'll try it sometime...

We should all be drow for a day someday. That would be funny. Or maybe someone could make a drowform commission thread.

I'm not worried. Make a thread, tell the world, throw a parade, bake a cake, build a bridge, and all that crap.

Totally indifferent. :wink:
Aw... You take all the fun out of everything.
