I never bothered to watch 3, based purely on the crappiness of 2. I would watch the cartoon based upon 2 and 3 periodically, though. I couldn't get past the facts that Bastian went from regular and slightly goofy looking kid to pretty Aryan Race poster child, and the Empress was suddenly always referred to as the "Childlike Empress" (even to her effing face! Like you'd address an empress of all of fantasy land as "childlike", without fear of losing your head!) instead of just the more logical and sensible "Empress", since the term "childlike" is not meant to be a title, but rather a description.

You know, I've always considered myself a bit of a cinemaphile, but I just realized that I'm truly a kids' movie geek.

I own that movie. I watched it again a couple of weeks ago, and it was still GLORIOUS! You just can't beat that opening sequence.

According to Beast Wars, all the transformers have a "spark" (actually looks like a glowing orb) that makes them be alive. If it goes out, they die.

Rhinox explains it all in detail in that one episode.
