Don't worry, he came back, like, five episodes later.
I haven't seen the movie either, but I'd already heard about Prime's death. Doesn't it happen kind of early-on, though?

I think it was at the end of one of the movies or something. Nothing but all the pokemon names strung together...the horror.

The damned thing's been out for, what, 20 years now? Here, let me ruin some more movies for you... WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!

The Crying Game chick was actually a dude.

Pee Wee got his bike back, AND they adapted his story to a blockbuster film.

Bambi's mother was shot and killed by hunters.

Thelma and Louise drive off a cliff to a spectacular death.

Frodo destroys the Ring of Power.

Rosebud is a sled.

Darth Vader is Luke's father.

Her name is Kiddo.

EDIT:

Also,

Transformers aren't merely robots! They're sentient alien robots, and they have a life force. ...DUH!

The second movie wasn't that bad, but it delved into "wtf?"
I never bothered to watch 3, based purely on the crappiness of 2. I would watch the cartoon based upon 2 and 3 periodically, though. I couldn't get past the facts that Bastian went from regular and slightly goofy looking kid to pretty Aryan Race poster child, and the Empress was suddenly always referred to as the "Childlike Empress" (even to her effing face! Like you'd address an empress of all of fantasy land as "childlike", without fear of losing your head!) instead of just the more logical and sensible "Empress", since the term "childlike" is not meant to be a title, but rather a description.

You know, I've always considered myself a bit of a cinemaphile, but I just realized that I'm truly a kids' movie geek.

Another EDIT:
Glarryg wrote:
I completely lost faith in the G.I. Joe franchise when I saw the movie for the second time a few years ago. So, like, they were going to kill off Duke, then decided not to and changed it to Duke slipping into a coma? Right in Scarlet's lap? Come on, have some balls. Just because killing Optimus Prime didn't go over so well doesn't mean you have to chicken out.

I own that movie. I watched it again a couple of weeks ago, and it was still GLORIOUS! You just can't beat that opening sequence.

8 episodes later in 'Dark Awakening', and then again in the last two episodes of season 3, unsurprisingly named 'The Return of Optimus Prime'.

if there were only some way we could harness geek as a power source... we could rule the world. Or at the very least inherit it.

They played it in segments at the end of each episode.

According to Beast Wars, all the transformers have a "spark" (actually looks like a glowing orb) that makes them be alive. If it goes out, they die.

Rhinox explains it all in detail in that one episode.

Just remember the most important lesson of world conquest, lego:
Marching on Moscow is not the best way to defeat Russia.
