Apparently I do. I've been mistaken for older a lot lately. I've also been mistaken for serious, non-slacking, responsible man.

Incidentally, I can't stand mint. I think that it tastes awful. I never even use toothpaste with intensive minty taste.

When I was a kid I used to run up the stairs like Peppermint.

I used to be terribly scared of dentist but the fear apparently dissapeared during this fall, for seemingly no reason.

I almost never wear shorts, even when it's warm outside. There does come a point though where I finally give up and wear shorts, but that's only really happened in the lower 48. Maybe at swimming pools too.

One side of my mouth was completely numb for three hours and I think I convinced somebody into thinking I was mentally retarded. XD
Oh, and they're all like, "You should floss! This wouldn't hurt if you tore at your gums YOURSELF all the time!" It's usually not that bad though for me. I don't like getting numbed though, because then I can't show the facial expression I want to. I'm outta control! Getting knocked out for wisdom teeth removal sucked too, again because I didn't have any control.

exactly ... there's nothing quite as fun as getting people to think you're high or drunk when you aren't! especially when it's at 3 in the morning!
It's not fun when it's on accident though.

I do as well. I have relatives who think I'm still in high school even though I've graduated college.

*raises a hand* 25, regularly mistaken for 14-17.
When I worked briefly at futureshop, the two high school kids there kept asking how old I was, turns out I was older than everyone working in the tech room. I was also so much more experienced/intelligent with technology.

Common quotes:

"You are 25? You look like you're 18!" (Futureshop)
"How come you aren't working for IBM/Microsoft/big-company-name?"
"How come you don't own microsoft?"
"You are going to be the next bill gates!" (Commonly heard when I was in high school 1994-1998)
"When are you going to take over the world?" (My response to this was always "It would be easier to destroy it")
"18? I thought you were 12!" (after I graduated from high school)

I kept getting compared to Bill gates, but I don't like Bill Gates very much. Bill Gates is a Gambler, he has a poker face. I on the other hand suck very much at games of chance, and get taken advantage of, all the bloody time. I prefer figuring stuff out on my own where as Bill just copied other peoples stuff. You do realize that Bill Gates pretty much ripped off others ideas and put his company name on it right? I think the only common aspect is the desire to innovate.

Now Kisai be fair. Bill may well have ripped off the original concept of Windows, but his company did write the source code for it. They'd have to - they had to invent DOS for their original platform; that wasn't stolen from anyone. Then the concept for windows might have been stolen from Apple, but they still had to write the code for it - Apple has said at that time they weren't working on a DOS based windows platform.

The current software they produce has no comparison on any other platform - in fact, other platforms have stolen their concepts from Microsoft. By way of example, if Microsoft "stole" the concept of windows from Apple, then the linux community "stole" the concept for xwindows from Microsoft.

No doubt Microsoft is one of those corporations that thinks it's so big that it can get what it wants. And that's bad. But they aren't a horde of thieves led by ringleader Bill Gates. :)

Microsoft didn't write DOS. They bought the code from someone. and to be fair, Apple stole the interfacing ideas from Xerox. The only coding that Bill gates has really done, was he wrote Basic. Everything else was snatched or bought from someone else. Bill Gates may be evil, but he's a genius when it comes to making business ventures, even if they're risky as hell. He told IBM about DOS before he had even bought the rights to it, or even knew if the code actually exsisted. Now, that takes balls.

Hmmm.... Since I have nothing to add to the current derailment, I'll just sneak in an on-topic post that will likely be ignored the way on-topic stuff usually is... ;)

My list is pretty short; I tend to be rather "transparent"...

-I have never worn any sort of makeup. Ever. Nor do I ever intend to. I don't blow-dry or style my hair using any hair-style-y products, either.

-I am frequently mistaken for a 16-year-old or younger, for no reason I can discern. (Well, maybe it's related to the first point?)

-I avoid talking on the phone like the plague.

-I hate socks; the first thing I do when I get in is take my socks off (or at least after I take off my shoes :P).

Xerox invented and developed a lot of cool things we use today. Too bad they screwed up royally and don't get any monetary compesation for them.

And the problem with looking younger than you are is that old people don't take you seriously. When applying for jobs I have a feeling I get dismissed the second I walk in the door. When I applied for that network technician job at a car dealership, I felt I had been dismissed before I even got to the managers office. 5 minute interview = bad.

I get weepy at sentimental movies

I have actually enjoyed reading category romances on occassion.

I'm something of an adrenaline junkie: car racing, judo, fast amusement park rides, and the like.

Really bites when you get turned down for jobs for that reason, I've had it happen a time or two.

Apparently I look alot more married with kids than I am.

Really hurts my chances on the dating scene when they think I'm looking to cheat on my non-existant wife.
I remember caring... It was nice.
