Re: Heroes Season 3
I can't help but think that Heroes is borrowing too heavily on time travel lore.
Season 1 -> World go boom, save the cheerleader save the world, Classic time travel, information from the future.
Season 2 -> mass disease, aka, the X-man legacy virus. Also Hiro's Destiny predestination paradox.
Season 3 -> Everyone is a hero, World go boom due to inappropriate use of powers, see Season 1. Butterfly effect.
ST:VOY was another series that borrowed to heavily on time travel lore only to press the rest switch each time. Heroes, at least isn't pressing the reset switch, but is really pressing on the level of believability.
Most of the 'powers' can be explained away as exaggerations on real abilities humans can have, which is one of the reasons why it's a fun show and not "monster of the day is attacking the town, press the reset switch at the end." Audiences have grown past the 22 minutes of attention span and now are willing to watch the equivalent of a mature science fiction soap opera.
There are a few abilities that can't be explained away, mainly The teleporting/time travel and painting/seeing the future(this can be explained by a combination of M-theory/quantum physics and creative interpretation of chaos theory) and powers that manipulate subatomic properties (nuclear man, fire/flame/electricity from the hands) since the body should be damaged even if it was able to spontaneously create an ignition source. Plus people who have these powers are easily "too powerful."
At least sylar's power is finally explained "His power is understanding how things tick" , which if you pay attention to earlier seasons, that part was actually kinda obvious. The 'why' was not.
Too many people can see the future. There are at least 4 characters who can directly see the future. The problem with 'seeing' the future is that it directly throws red herrings by going "This is the direction we are going to head, and then change directions". I'll call this the 'Chibi-Usa' effect. Too many people from the future come back to meddle with the past intentionally, or visit the future and then come back to the past and try change it.
Also I totally called something from much earlier in season 2. I'm not going to bother finding when I said it, but it was something like:
"The company must have somehow already knew the future in order to steer it to the future they wanted", Guess what, now we know that's true.
Also I'm going to call Nikki and her identical twin played by the same actress were patients zero for that formula that Hiro now has to get.

Claire needs to make up her mind about Sylar. "I wanna kill him! ... But not at the expense of someone else, even though it's the only way he could be killed."

Shoot the rocket into Jupiter.
Beth and I have missed the last two episodes. Personally the only thing I've missed is wanting to see what Suresh becomes.

the whole thing is getting worse and worse, i'm not even sure why i keep watching, it's like a car wreck i can't look away, i want to see how far they get before they get canned. This is complete and fairly predictable crap. I knew maury was behind the linderman visions, i didn't call the "big bad" but he had to show up at some point anyway, so it's not really all that surprising. oh and the "you have to recruit one more" was so obviously parkman before they showed the picture. Amanda can't stand the show anymore, well to be honest she hasn't been able to stand it for a while, and i don't blame her, it really is getting awful.

At least they delivered with the new bad guy's powers when they said "You don't want to know what he can do." Last time it was just Banshee, this time it's more like Purple Man/Puppet Master. That can actually be a creepy/threatening ability.

Re: Heroes Season 3
During the intense scene where HRG tries to convince Vortex guy to kill Sylar, why didn't Sylar use his hearing power to listen in? Hmm...

Re: Heroes Season 3
Well, every time they cut to Sylers POV you couldn't hear what was being said, so it certainly gave the impression he forgot to use his super hearing. But later in the car it seemed like he knew what had happened. But no one in the car seemed surprised that he knew.
So either he did use his super hearing and they were too lazy to give some sort of indication, or he figured it out some other way and they forgot to give some sort of indication.
<_<
>_>
Not that I'm watching the show anymore, I swear!
I only watched Monday's episode 'cause my Dad wanted to see it.

Re: Heroes Season 3
I HAD been a good job of ignoring it. But I just happened to be hanging out at my parents house and it came on and my Dad wanted to watch it.
I try to get out but I keep getting dragged back in!
