A teenage girl named Veronica whose father is a private investigator. She does odd jobs for him, picking up detective skills to compliment her keen eye for detail. She applies these skills to her daily life, starting with her personal relationships and doing favors for her few friends, until people start hiring her. It's very smart and funny, and it brings the suspense when it needs to.

And Kristen Bell, aside from being adorable, plays it perfectly, with the right mixture of toughness and vulnerability, intelligence and teenage naivete, sarcasm and sincerity.

So yeah, it's OK.

Really, it's not, like, I dunno, dumb teen crap you typically find on the WB or anything. It's real sharp and has great character development, two things I prize highly.

To an extent we're all putting on a performance. We're all different here than we are in real life, just like we're different with our friends than we are with our mothers.

And it's too much effort to back to the top of the page and memorize who's on the board.

So true. I tell people all the time, so long as the person on the other end has a backspace key, they can be anyone they want to be.

The actor's 26 playing a 19 year old. She was more convincing as a 24 year old playing a 17 year old, but it's close enough, and she simply IS the character.
