Just talked to ryan, he seems to be getting better and is really fun to talk to when he's loopy on medication . Kinda wish I'd recorded parts of the conversation where he drifted, oh well.

Oooooh, it was you who gave me the busy signal
Do tell his loopy story. Let's compare just how silly this ol' ball of light can be
well it was just a conversation about him telling me what the doctors had told him about his condition and he kinda digressed to talking about bbqing and getting some great steak.. it was rather odd.

That's the pain medicine for you. Last night he was talking about a wall filled with butterflies out of the blue. The day before he was talking about he needed to get an oil change. I told him he was in the hospital. "Oh, I wondered why the waiting room was so nice."

well i guess technically he was getting an oil change.. just not for the car... or maybe just a tune up, i don't know the metaphor's a bit strained here.

Just got off the phone with Ryan. The doctors attempted to remove the fluid from his lungs by pushing a needle through his back but failed. When commenting that it must have hurt, Ryan was disappointed that it didn't hurt as much as he was expecting.
In any case, he's hoping to get out by the end of the week. He was very touched when he heard everyone here was pulling for him.
Here we stand, here we fall; history don't care at all. Make the bed, light the light; Lady Mercy won't be home tonight.

I gotta have some of that medicine!
The medicine's effect on the mind: It made me sleepy, but not deeply sleepy. Yet it did not turn off mental recording. The result was daydreams that my brain recorded as if they were actual memories. I recall wondering why my wall had turned blue and filled with butterflies. I recall talking to legostar and wondering if I had two stethescopes if I could listen to his heart in stereo. I recall the oil change.
It's all very distressing. I have memories that didn't happen now. Yay me.
Crossfire: "Thank you! That explains it very nicely, and in a language that someone other than a physicist can understand..."
Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.
"Data" is not the plural of "anecdote"

I wonder what that says about the person you are if you're made up of your memories.
