Elder Scrolls Oblivion

Post by Prettysenshi »

I love games, and this new one from the Elder Scrolls Series on the Xbox 360 is number 1 on my list right now. The graphics are sweet, I mean, it's perfect, almost, and the story is so compelling. Not to mention that you can literally go anywhere in the world that you want to. How cool is that? Very cool. If my tv will work, I'll try to save up and buy it.

Heck, I'm so into the game, I got inspired to do another comic about games. How cool is that?

Here is a screenshot.

It sounds and looks cool.

But given the choice between buying an XBOX 360, or licking a rat, I'd lick the rat.

Because Beth and I earned some 22,000 tickets at an arcade playing video games. Beth spent them on an XBOX and some games for me. It was very sweet. But it took a long time to earn those tickets, and the XBOX was hard won. That they're completely moving over to a new system galls me.

It's a chocolate rat, isn't it?

(I bet it's a chocolate rat.)

Eh, who the hell would care for the new Elder Scrolls on the Xbox 360 when it would be alot better were it belongs, the PC.

One main thing that many people like about the game is the mods that others make for it, the version for the Xbox 360 wouldn't have anything like the modding community, maybe just downloadable patches and equipment you need to pay for to add to your game, where as you could download them for free off the actual website.

In a nutshell, Elder Scrolls for Xbox, bad. Elder Scrolls for PC, good.

The only reason I can think of at the moment for someone buying the Xbox 360 version is because they can't/won't upgrade their PC.

I had a good time making mods for morrowind, I'll no doubt have a good time doing it for the next game too.

It seems too soon for a switchover of th consoles, but I guess every company just has to be the latest and the greatest.
I remember caring... It was nice.

Well, if you fall behind, you're left behind. If you know what I mean.

Depending on the price, I may get an XBOX 360 when it comes out (especially since my siblings swiped my xbox). But not for games like Elder Scrolls - I'd play those on a PC. The prupose, I believe, of a console is that you can play multiplayer games with the people right next to you without going through the trouble of setting up a LAN thingie. Drunken Halo is sooooooo much fun.

It's a very substantial reason though. Bethesda is traditionally not very efficient with their programming, and their games more often than not run like molasses. In order to get one of their games to run reasonably well (as well as on the Xbox, even), I would expect most people to have to pay considerably more than 300 bucks on their system.

Only problem- you have to get a hard drive so you can download the data necessary for backwards compability. In simpler terms, you have to buy the more expensive version.

Back on topic, though, I loved the mods for the first Morrowind, and that's what's pushing me to get the PC version. Sweetneeessss
You know, i should work on this.

Oblivion looks awesome, yes. Project Offset, though, also looks sweet. See the attached screenshot, as well as this shiny poster

That looks hott. I never heard of the game before. Is it new, or part of a series?

It is new. Which is awesome.
Make sure to check out the preview movie things. They rock greatly.

I'm downloading it now. FPS Rpg? That's different. The character designs are cool too. I love fantasies with a roughness to it.

Man, that HDR thing is getting tiring now. It feels a bit gimmicky for me now. :(
