Can someone explain something to me?
What the heck is a "weak jawline"? I was reading an article about the selection of the next James Bond actor, and several men were dismissed because of their weak jaws. I was a bit perplexed, because I never really pay attention to anyone's jawline. So then, I google the subject, and find that chin implants are the latest rage with men. Can anyone explain what constitutes a strong and weak jaw?

My impression of this is that a "strong jawline" implies that the jawbone is either the broadest part of the face or is at least as broad as the rest of it and is very distinct.
With a "weak jawline" the jawbone is narrower than the upper half of the face and sort of melds with the rest of the face..
Mel Gibson and Sean Connery have strong jaws. Alec Guinness and Jimmy Stewart have weak ones.

Chin implants? Bizarre. I guess it was inevitable, though.

Yeah, a strong jawline implies a heavy, broad chin, a strong feature of your face. Frank Burns had a weak jawline. It was part of his character's humour.
A strong jawline is supposedly what scored Peter Weller the role of Robocop, as the actor needed a strong jawline as it would be the only part of him visible with the helmet on.

You must unlock the secrets of the jaw! It's critical for cartooning! Crazy little features like that play a big role in how we perceive characters, which is why James Bond has to have that jutting chin. Psi's example is perfect, because one guy looks manly and the other guy looks like a slob based on that jawline alone.
Like Comrade Murphy said on SeaLab, it don't mean butt if it ain't got that jut.
