I voted Fire through a process of elimination dependent on the assumption that I'll be doing some interplanetary traveling with my powers. After all, why protect (or destroy) only this planet?
Water is useless. Aquaman taught us that. Totally useless. Pff. What if I went to a world made of water and blasting water at things was my only power? How stupid would that be? Or if I could breathe underwater but none of the bad guys/heroes had underwater bases?
I didn't pick Earth because we've got no guarantee that the Earth power works outside of Earth. Can you manipulate the material of ANY planet? If that's the case, shouldn't you call it "soil" power or something? "plant" power? But those sound really stupid. Though it WOULD be pretty freakin awesome to like send a massive wave of dirt crashing across the continent to crush people. Heheheheheh.
Actually, now that I think about it, lightning is probably more a universal power than fire, but what if I found a planet where everything was properly grounded and well-insulated? Besides, you'll find flammable stuff wherever you go, no matter what, and even water can be boiled off with a flame hot enough.
I bet a lot of superheroes would have a much better time of it if they could choose their powers and go on a trial run before settling with anything.

You stay away from Kansas, and you'll last much longer as well.Joel Fagin wrote:Oh? Well, I was just going to suggest hitting Kansas. Western Australia has a big wheat industry, see. It'd be great to be able to sell to America as well.
Make it a dirty nuke, too. Much longer lasting.
As a side note, my 2nd edition D&D Dungeon Master's Guide classifies lightning as a quasi-element between wind and water. Or something like that. But if we're talking about video games, there are all sorts of things:
Moon, Dark, Light, Nature, etc...

If Star Wars has taught me one thing, it's that the Dark Side is awesome. (C'mon, the Imperial March has to be one of the coolest musical pieces in the movie..) Then when you add in the games.. All these wonderfully malicious powers. ...God I love being evil.
So, since I've pledged my loyalty to the Sith, I must vote for lightning.
Fire was a close second, but then I thought, "Wait... if I heat something enough with lightning, it'll burst into flames!" Thus, I realized that lightning is two powers in one and therefore gives me an edge.

Have you guys ever been out in a real windstorm? I went hiking up this precipice once during a storm (bad idea, by the way. never do that)
It was awesome.
You don't really believe in the power of wind until you've been picked off the side of a hill and thrown around like a kite. I swear if my clothes were any baggier I could have flown.
So I'd take wind and ice and rain and whatnot.
Like Storm.
Tell me that Pok

It's the only videogame I ever really got into. Once I beat the Elite Four armed only with a single jigglypuff. Booyah.

Captain Planet taught us much about the elements. Mostly, it taught me that no matter how much "Heart!" you have, the rainforest is screwed. Secondly, I learned that it was the communist using wind powers.
...and my small town American teachers taught me that commies are bad... and terrorists... and people who talk funny... ... ..and the French.. Now, my lightning powers just got done heating up my Freedom Fries. So, I shall be going now.

Just a couple of super potions while fighting whatsherface's Houndoom. I'd traded it over to my red version, you see, where I had about a billion multiplied rare candies ready. That Jigglypuff freakin PWNED, man.noxmeansxno wrote:Ugh. I never was that good at the game. Did you have to use loads of items?Leko wrote:Pokemon RULZ

I`m charizard! Setting my enemies on fire and watching them die in unspeakable pain...
Just kidding...
My favourite superpower is summoning horrible beasts from hell.

I voted for water because I wanted ice and they're related.
Also, wind totally goes with lightning. Not with earth. Earth bests wind because wind can't blow the earth around (It's too heavy). Earth also beats lightning by grounding the charge. Thus they are in the same element slot.
This set of elements is kinda empty, though. There's not even any light or darkness. The set I use for my games has 12 elements in it.
