I'm all for natural childbirth, as long as the woman is having the babies.

In fact, some women opt for a C-section instead of a natural pregnancy.
Um, I think instead of "pregnancy", you mean "childbirth". Because a C-section is not a pregnancy alternative.

O_o now here's a topic I wouldn't have expected to find in here... Anyway such an accident happened to me too.. except it wasn't a chair but a foot... with a shoe on it.. a steel tipped shoe... the ground was comfortable...

Bah, details. You wrote that just for your post count, didn't you?

Anyway, everyone's body is different, so who is to say which is less painful? I've heard reports of C-sections being much better for some than regular childbirth. Apparently some women have delivered all their children by C-section with few complications.

As with TLH, all this is hearsay.

[guilt trip]

If your baby is cut out with a c-section they were never born; every birthday will feel like a lie!

"Birth a : the emergence of a new individual from the body of its parent b : the act or process of bringing forth young from the womb"

I think that still applies.

It's definately a childbirth alternative. A pregnancy alternative would be boring, painful, or at the least, repetitive.

My sister had her first son by emergency C-section and the second naturally. She's all in favor of the "Don't Cut Me Open" option. Something about not having to hobble around with an incision while trying to take care of a newborn. She was really funny when she was coming out of the anesthesia, though.

My first words upon waking from anasthesia from my gallbladder surgery:

(in a very loud voice)

"OUTPATIENT SURGERY MY ASS!"

I don't remember it at all, but Beth swears it's true.

So, I'll bet C-sections aren't much fun.
