Same avatar I've had since the gif rush of like 2005. I just can't bear to part with it.

JIM HATE LIST
McDuffies - Hates me, but with a grudging mutal respect. The perfect arch-nemesis!
Yeahduff - Hates me, which I suspect stems from jealousy of my obviously superior intellect.
DJMayhem - Hates me, apparently due to my tendency to stalk him . . . but I know he really loves me underneath it all because we were meant to be together.

Oh well, never mind.

This is an intriguing work. At first it seems to be abstract, but upon another second's examination, you see two beady little eyes staring at you. It seems the figure is only delineated by certain details, such as eyes, hair, and scarf, while the body itself merges with the canvas. A style with interesting possibilities, and thematically perfect for the new boarder/lurker, where the phrase "faded into the background" becomes literal. A transition to A-lister (see also: heavyweight) can be awkward, though, and the image itself isn't quite as compelling as it can be. The poor cropping doesn't help.

I suppose you truly are as old as you feel.
This is a visual quip turned avatar gold. The branding possiblities are endless, and the goomba provides an strong identity to a boarder in search of one. Don't feel limited to the original photo, humorous as it is.

It's always ballsy to turn away from an image that you're exceedingly identified with, and so is the case here, a divorce from the iconic Angry D Monkey. But if we don't adapt we perrish, and this bookish fellow is KDawgs new survival plan. The drawing is appealing, and the vacantly joyous expression fits the humorous posting style, but the image is a little thin and gets lost in the madness, particularly placed next to all those signatures. Most importantly, it doesn't effectively replace Angry in our heads. That's a high bar, though, and I support the search for something new.

Sweatervest Dawg is the newer, clearly superior model. With a slicker visual presentation I'm sure everyone would come to agree!

Here's a spacer with an identity. The perpetual supervillain of Keenspace, we've all come to greet the menace permeating behind those stylish green spectacles with warmth and fondness. This incarnation is less the imposing force that we first fell in love with and follows a more classic vaudeville evil scheming genius. A swirling moustache and perhaps a tophat would've strengthened the image, but pehaps that'd be over the top. If not as effective as older versions, this avatar shows the depth of the brand, and is a strong entry nontheless.War wrote:I have no idea what avatar I am using.

It's bareable since I have a nifty "moderator" ribbon.
Re: Post in this thread and I will rate your avatar.
Mind doing mine?
Its cool that you said all that Duff, as thats the little inside joke associated with that character. Nipon Ichi (Disgaea, Rhapshody, etc) drew her up for a strat game (I believe before Hour of Darkness) but scrapped it soon after. They really liked the character design though, pretty much for all those reasons: its hard to dislike her, but failed to put her in anywhere decent. Her biggest role was a news caster in Disgaea II (with only one line in the entire game) and as the character you need to talk to to open up the Dark Assembly menues in Disgaea I.yeahduff wrote:Paul Escobar wrote:This is definitely a fun thread, although I think yeahduff is being a bit too negative about the "avatar faces away from post" thing - there could arguably be all kinds of subtle context to that.
It's hard to find something to dislike about this avatar: it's stylish, goofs on anime stereotypes, sports a delicious androgyny, strong use of color, and the mock shyness is rather cute. I'm not convinced it's right for the poster, but it's nice to look at.

I don't think he needs to, since Sonic is already the Sixth Most Awful Thing to Happen to the Internet. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle![AlmightyPyro] wrote:I was planning on changing my Av soon, but you can rate sonic if you want. I dare you to give him a bad grade!

Should I click and see what #1 is right away, or should I read them all in order? Hmmm...
