Well, if you've ever waited in line at the DMV or Post Office, that is the fear many Americans have of a socialized healthcare plan run by the federal or state government. Even though 'socialized' has been butchered to death over last decade of proposals in Washington it is still called that. Regardless, the U.S. government spends more on healthcare on its citizens than almost any country in the world. Yet we keep paying ridic healthcare rates and a night's stay in the hospital is more than a suite at the Ritz. Something has to be done. I like the walk-in clinics at Wal-Mart. It's a start.War wrote:American's views of socialised healthcare always makes me chuckle.
US political nonsense

The walk-in clinics are a great step in the right direction for America.Legion of Boom wrote: Well, if you've ever waited in line at the DMV or Post Office, that is the fear many Americans have of a socialized healthcare plan run by the federal or state government. Another problem is that health insurance needs to be restored to its proper role: INSURANCE for emergencies. Not a payment plan for everything health-related.

So freaking true. I haven't called it health insurance in years as it is really a healthcare program and if you don't have it, you're SOL. You're even SOL with it. I have a ridiculously long heinous story about when my daughter was born a year ago that I will save for another day. So beyond insane and it is the poster child story for healthcare reform in this country.BeefotronX wrote:Another problem is that health insurance needs to be restored to its proper role: INSURANCE for emergencies. BTW, I haven't seen Beef-O's avatar until today. For some reason, I giggle uncontrollably every time I see it. Oh boy, here I go again.

yah, looks like McCain is gonna be the nominee. against Obama, he was and is the only one I think stands a chance. against Clinton, he will win.
everything is still up in the air for the democratic nomination. the Clintons just injected at least 5 million of their own money into the campaign... I'm thinking about sending another 20 bucks Obama's way.

Heh, look down upon it. You tell me.
You think the girls here: ever wonder how they got so pretty?
Well I do.

I don't like John McCain. He's put his name on so many abominable pieces of legislation, he could very well be less of a Republican than Joe Lieberman. And he's basically said 'screw you' to the base. He expects people to vote for him, and then go away for 4 years.
Huckabee's basically a Christian Socialist like Jimmy Carter. I don't want that in my government.
Mitt Romney may be accused of flip-flopping, but with him you get the idea that he might be listening.
OK, it was a bit obscure.yeahduff wrote:And holy shit, it seems Beef's guy is gone.
