Christmas seems subdued this year. Perhaps it is just me growing cynical and jaded.

They're saying there's going to be a consumer-led recession this year. So it's a pretty subdued Christmas this year in terms of consumer spending, etc.

That may be the case elsewhere, but where I live it's worse than ever...

I've noticed a lot less of the whole Christmas thing both in the UK and Malta. No decorations up, nobody buying stuff. I almost preffered with when everyone went nuts.

I might be up for bitching and moaning then, but not till after I find out who is holding the whip.

though aside from the holidays, I hate winter in general.

It seems subdued to me as well, but I sleep most of the day, and my nights are spent working while listening to an MP3 player with the volume maxed to drown out the horrible Christmas music playing overhead. It's better that way...

Because if I had to actually listen to Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer I would hop in my Jeep and run down the next deer I see. Then throw it into reverse and finish the job.

I mean... I got nothing against people celebrating and being happy.. But holiday themed music just drives me into a blind rage. I almost beat a snowman to death with a mop and bucket once...

Aah, the sounds of Christmas...dragons breathing, cavemen raging, aliens thrashing about, and children screaming!

...I can't believe how many people are really wanting to go through the Haunted House at Christmastime. :P

O_o;

I guess I'm one of the few who enjoyed christmas this year.
Got to see my dad and brother and eat a special meal with them. No efflusion of gift, just time spent with the family in the house I spent half my life in. Also I'm waist deep in snow, so fun!

...There was once a time... When I loved the snow. Loved it so very very much. A white winter wonderland bringing fond warm memories of childhood and simple times. Now when that lovely fluffy white snow caresses the earth, I cannot help but feel sadness. A lonely chill in my soul. An emptiness of sorts.

I once liked snow. It was so magical, and I wasn't allowed to go play in it because I was a sickly child with over-protective parents. But now that I'm grown up and have to drive in it, I fucking hate it. One of my future plans is to move far away to a place where it never snows.

Sometimes you have to work on Christmas.

Sometimes.

My brother is working on Christmas, at a Starbucks. He also worked Black Friday.

I really don't care one way or the other this year about the holidays. This entire winter break has too much happening for me to relax, but at least I'm getting presents and not in school.

It's beginning to feel a not like Christmas.

Seriously is it Christmas Eve?

Maybe it'll hit me at bed time but I just don't feel it this year.....weird.
Usually the week before Christmas I've turned into a holly jolly pain in the neck and this year it's hard to even remember what day it is.

I'm working on christmas... eve, day and boxing day, woo that's like... wait... and I'm working new years eve and day. Just like last year!

Should also note that they sent like 6 people home cause there's nothing to do. So really, not only am I the only person working those days, I'm also doing ALL the work. ha ha... at least it's not 6 peoples worth of work.

I think this year is the only time I missed having turkey dinner for christmas... made up for it with the 3 or 4 times I just bought turkey for no special reason, so I'm good.

This will cheer you up, I've never had a white Christmas. It only snows around Febuary in the middle of Texas, except this year, it snowed during Thanksgiving, and that one year it snowed in April.
I'm glad 90's style forum signatures don't exist anymore.
