i'm not even going to get into the whole "i injected my blood into you and cured you" thing.
That was definitely the thing that made me go "What the F&@K?!" the loudest in season one. It really seemed like the writers pulled that one out of there asses.
"Crap, we gave this girl a disease and forgot to come up with a way to cure it.What do we do?"
The powers are not in any way genetic. There is a gene, however, that is. The weird eclipse triggers that gene, and the person mutates uniquely.
I mean, Kensei can regenerate, and he's 200 years in the past. If every child of a mutant is a mutant, there'd be thousands by the present, If we assume that Kensei wasn't the only one in the 1800's

"I dunno, just make Mohinder the cure."
makes you wonder though, if that's mohinder's ability, does peter have it now too? is peter a cure also?

If that's a POWER, then yes, Peter should have it. But if it's just a different genetic quirk that makes him immune, then no, he shouldn't. And it's not technically his blood - the crud he injected into the Haitian was pale and a bit yellowish, more like serum. So maybe it's something in his blood, but not his blood cells themselves.

Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.
"Data" is not the plural of "anecdote"
but all the powers ARE are genetic abnormalities, it makes you wonder exactly what peter can "pick up" can he get genetic diseases by being near someone with one? HIV is a retrovirus, it changes the DNA, can he get AIDS just by being around someone who has it?

Then again, it might just give him an excuse to be more emo.

Rickford wrote:To be honest, it wouldn't really make any difference to Peter. I'm assuming the regeneration thing extends to illnesses as well as physical injury.
Depends on where the root of the regeneration lies. If it's something in the cytoplasm of the cell, then it may not actually REPAIR dna damage - just clone the modified dna, making AIDS a real possibility.

Noise Monkey wrote:I wonder what happened with the severed toe. Did Mr. Muggles eat it? They showed him lapping up her blood last season. Maybe he's got a taste for Claire now. By the third season, he'll be tearing out her throat in her sleep.
Because, Mr. Muggles is evil. I stand by my theory. I loved how this episode showed you what a good looking pomeranian looks like, and then would scan back to ugly Mr. Muggles.
Lesson of the last episode: It's okay to be a creepy stalker guy. Though it may alienate the object of your affection at first, she will soon realize that you only do it because you love her and she will fall into your arms.*
Also, Claire seemed unusually pissed at the idea that her (adoptive) dad was hunting down people with powers. Didn't she already know he used to do that? Or was that erased by the Haitian? Damn, having characters constantly losing their memories makes it very hard to keep track of what they know.
* There is also no way seems like it was written to play of the fantasies that certain socially awkward individuals may have had in high school.
Am I to assume episode 3 has aired now? I've been patiently waiting for it to make it's way onto the internets, but I'm never sure whether it's been aired yet because I can't figure out the time difference. >.<
