Jacob Two-Two, Deviant Art, and Mission Impossible!?!?!

Post by Signore_cristiano »

Yeah... so it's been ages since I started a new thread in the forum... but I'm glad to be back :)

anyway

Has anyone heard of a childrens book series/tv show called Jacob Two-Two? The show comes on here in NC and I like the art style a lot

Also, if anyone has a deviant art account, could you give your username to me? I'd like to add ya :)

and finally... does it make me a weirdo if after the seniors are done taking exams on May 4 I start dashing around campus singing the mission impossible theme? XD

Jacob Two-Two? I vaguely remember it... ...I think it was Canadian it was about a young chap who said everything (or certain things) twice... ...it was on a few years ago here...

Jacob Two-Two!! Image

I've got both of these somewhere (only with much better cover artwork):
Jacob Two-Two Meets The Hooded Fang
Jacob Two-Two and the Dinosaur

Both a cute read.
Never knew there was a TV series though, wish I'd seen it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the cartoon series is still running on YTV. It's a cute series, with, like you said, a very interesting style.

Yeah it's about this 13 year old named Jacob, I think he lives in Montreal... It's called Jacob Two Two because he has to say things twice cause they didn't understand him the first time XD [Which I can completely relate to]

You might not have heard of it. It's from Canada and the book series has been around since the 70s but I've never seen anything about it until recently. I think it comes on NBC on Saturday morning block called qubo
And remember a day without comicgenesis is like a day with deafening hysterical bohemians!

Anyone who's Canadian has. Pretty much ever Canadian child gets read the Jacob Two-two books or reads them in school.

The books (there's 3 of them) were written by Mordecai Richler who was one of Canada's top authors...not for kids books for the most part, but for adult literature. He wrote the Two-two books for his son though and they became bit hits. They're all pretty witty and wrote in a way that kids will enjoy them, but the parents reading to their kids will enjoy them too and chuckle at all the references that would fly over their child's head. The second one in particular (Jacob Two-two and the Dinosaur) is really funny (all of Richler's stuff is really funny). I rarely laugh reading a book, but Richler's work will make me laught out loud.

I've seen bits of the cartoons...they seem pretty good, although I can't help but feel they're sort of over-milking the characters with an ongoing series.
