Seriously guys...cut the newbies some slack. People don't know the trends of our little forum. Let's face it, we have 'in' fads and 'out' fads. And we tend to descend like a pack of wolves on anyone who doesn't know which way the wind is blowing at any given moment. I mean, people have started nonsensical threads with worse grammar while utterly plastered multiple times and have garnered less rebuke because they're forum regulars. Just ease up some, hmm?
Anyhow...I suppose it depends on which ninja and samurai we are talking about. I mean, if we're talking about the Samurai Delicatessen, then I'm afraid I'd have to side with John Belushi any day of the week.

Google wrote:A ninja would not actually "fight" a samurai, mainly because the ninja was a knowledge-gainer and an assassin, not a "warrior". The ninja would have a specific goal, usually a higher-ranking official than a samurai. Even if there were samurai surrounding the official, the ninja would not waste time on the samurai. The ninja would need a single strike; if he missed, he would escape and try again later rather than fight through the highly skilled samurai. Again, the ninja would not waste time killing the pawns, only the master. It would be like using a chess knight to capture the queen or win the game without using the knight to take any other piece. The other pieces, in this instance, are the ones doing the fighting, the samurai.
Another point I'd like to make is that ninjas were not used as assassins in actual conflicts. When two states were at war, it would be dishonorable to kill the leader with a ninja. Ninja were used before things went to the battlefield. Once it came down to a battle in the fields, the ninja were used for reconnaissance, not fighting. The samurai and infantry were used to honorably defeat the enemy faction.
There is no sword greater than a finely honed mind.

Video Game Example 4
As much as I wouldn't like to give Star Ocean 3 as an example...
Nel: Ninja who would run into the midst of battle instead of heal you like you told her to and get her ass killed at the worst possible time.
Albel: Samurai who could take a beating and dish it out ten-fold
Samurai wins there too...

I wasn't trying to be harsh. But I can speak from experience about bringing up topics with a serious sleep depravity. Regrettably.MixedMyth wrote:Seriously guys...cut the newbies some slack.

Ninja rely on stealth and surprise. Samurai on armour and fighting ability.
So... Depends who the situation favours. Each on would win in their own element.
...
Oh, I'm sorry. Was that too serious?

PS. I second MM. People seem really harsh these days.
