Do any of you speak Polish?

Post by [AOD] »

I got this link from what appears to be a Polish webcomic, and his link page describes the comics in Polish as well. Naturally I'd wonder what he had to say about my comic. I've put it through several online translators, and all I've gotten is mush.

Could any of you possibly, please, help me figure out this passage?

Jeśli kiedykolwiek interesowały was prądy morskie, przyczyny powstawania El Ninõ, efekt globalnego ocieplenia i inne takie rzeczy, to teraz zostanie wam to wytłumaczone łopatologicznie. Przez skąpo odzianą biuściastą panienkę, która potrafi wyginać się na niesamowite sposoby. Warto chociaż popatrzeć ;)
Thanks a lot, in advance!

Godai's Polish, no?

Though I think that we got the jist. From Joel's babbel and parts of Polish I can understand, it's:
Fanservice + Meteorology = WIN is not an erotic comic yet you can't but feel such aftertaste.
If you were ever interested in sea currents, creation of El Nino, global warning effect and similar things, now it'll be logically explained to you by a young lady ??? ??? who is able to bend in amazing ways. It's worth looking (or something)

Look, Polish!

Seriously, though, don't speak Polish. However, that begs the question that if it's on a website designed for people who speak Polish, why do they link to an English-speaking webcomic? Or if it's intended for those who can speak English, why not just write it out in English, since they obviously need to be English to understand what it says.

Maybe they write a blog on their native language and link to stiff they like.

Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.
"Data" is not the plural of "anecdote"

That might be useful if he hadn't disappeared a hundred million years ago.

Anyway the only somewhat active poster I know of who speaks Polish would be Godai.

Was the site webkomiks.pl by any chance? I've been getting quite a few hits from there recently too. I think Godai might be behind it, since he's a fan :)

Quite close. The last part got a bit jumbled though, it should be:

"now it'll be explained to you in simple terms* by a skimpily-dressed and well-endowed young lady, who's amazingly 'flexible'. Nice eyecandy**."

*"wytłumaczyć łopatologicznie" = "explain in a simple way", with a slightly derogatory flavour: "explain in way even a moron would understand, as if forcing the knowledge in with a shovel"
("łopata"=shovel)
It's usually used when the explanation goes to explain all the trivialities, (so no part of the audience is left out), becoming boring to anyone with some knowledge in the proces.
On the other hand, it may be used when the explanation is so clear _anyone_ could get it.

** The last sentence is kinda a pun.
"Warto popatrzeć" = "Worth looking at"
"Warto chociaż popatrzeć" = "Worth looking at, though not necessarily anything more"
