Hulk smash puny Deadpool. :)

Deadpool is pretty cool as an example of a character who is 'comic aware'. That's an unusual archetype. What other comic aware characters are out there? Ambush Bug and She-Hulk are the only other ones I can think of.

All my characters are comic aware. They work for (barely any) pay, and have to take side jobs just to make ends meet. I'm an evil man. :)

(not that anyone outside Marvel and DC can be a superhero, they own the trademark)
I think the trasformers were mainly just soldiers battling each other .

I think there should be a thread like this, but for best comic book CHARACTER of all time. Gosh. That would be hard.

Geh, I haven't read enough American comics to have a real opinion, but I'd have to say The Tick is the favorite that would come to mind. :P

Heh... so many 1st stringers... am I the only second/third string lover here?

Give me Morph (Exiles), Jamie Madrox (X-Factor), Strong Guy (also X-Factor), Sage (Excalibur), Madison Jefferies (Alpha Flight), Zatanna (Justice League), Green Arrow (you heard me) and Etrigan (Damn stright) above Spiderman, wolverine, superman, batman, the flash, Green Lantern (though I do dig Guy and Kilawog) and Wonder Woman ANY day of the week... even Tuesdays.

Right now if I had to pick one I'd have to say I'm really digging Peter David's reinvention of Madrox. I'm loving the X-Noir comming out of that book and the Madrox mini rocked.

RE: Deadpool

A. I have Baby's First Deadpool and I can't stop laughing. He's the single... SINGLE cool thing that Rob Liefield ever did. Fuckin' Cable. What a joke.

B. Why for the love of Christ is there a Cable and Deadpool comic? Fuck Cable. No one likes him anymore.

Non superhero characters that I like bring me to a neck and neck race between Spider Jerusalem and Yorik from Y: the Last Man. I guess it depends on my mood.

I was gonna say Andy, but I decided to stick with tradition for once. Why? I dunno — I guess I wanted to be popular.

I can't be the only one who thinks Deadpool is just a 90s ripoff of Spiderman, right? The big eyespots and two-tone theme for the costume. The acrobatic wisecracking? But with guns and cool and violent?
