How much does art matter to online comics?

I was wondering how much peope take art into consideration for their comic needs. It seems that art doesn't matter, as many comis are popular but have bad art(I won't mention any because I do not wish to offend.) This is also a trend in print comis, as Dilbert is one of the most popular comis, but it has horrendous art. Here is something to put it into perspective- how many comics do you read that have bad art but are good, and how many comics do you read that are but have outstanding art?
