Henceforth, if 48 hours pass without someone posting a new message,it will probably signal a distress call to my subconscious, and the next thing you know, I'll probably be posting some dang lame thing or another, just to see if anyone is still out there.
I think I watched "Twilight Zone" a few too many times when I was a kid. You know, those scary episodes where the main character walks down the street and there's NOBODY ELSE LEFT on Earth....Ewwww. *Shudder*
They're talking about blowing up stuff and shooting off rockets over at the Schlock board. I feel so deprived. My mom would have had a heart attack if my brother and I had ever tried to do anything Dangerous Like That.
How is everyone? Nice night out tonight, here in Simi Valley. Clear and cold. What's it like up in Utah? Will I need snow tires anytime this Thursday through Sunday? 'Cause I don't have any...

There you have it. Reading stuff BY mormons is inherently more fun (and accurate) than reading stuff ABOUT mormons.
--Howard

All is well out this way.

For the record, I had to add some gore to my shark comic today (1-17) to make it funnier to me.

A week ago, I whouln't have gotten the reference in the title of this thread. That was before Howard hijacked the Randym Thoughts website and linked to the Land of Eric. Why is it that every Mormon I've ever encountered on the Internet (that'd be Howard, Randy and Eric) is so funny? this does not jibe with anything I've ever read about LDS (which, to date, is Mark Twain's description in Roughing It, which I suppose doesn't really count)!
------------------

Hmm. I think that's the question where we're supposed to say "Wanna find out more about our Church?" And send the missionaries over to share some of the stuff we believe. (In fact, both Howard, Eric, and I served as missionaries for two years in various spots 'round the world.)

I think that is where the sense of humor comes from -- take a reasonably intelligent guy, give him a knowledge and a love of the Gospel, then send him off to preach full-time for two years at age nineteen or so. Take away his TV and radio, and prohibit dating, to help him stay focused -- pretty soon the intellectual side is looking over at the spiritual side and raising an eyebrow, and then the spiritual side shrugs, and together they decide that the only way they're going to survive this higher calling is to develop a sense of humor.

In my case, that's when the Crazy Side stepped in, and he's been teetering around the outskirts of my mind ever since. He's so wacky. He likes waffles.

NO! NOT THE MISSIONARIES! I'LL BE GOOD! I'LL BE GOOD!
*gasp* *pant* Sorry, I have this overwhelming fear of people who try to convert me. I'll stay happily Hellbound, thankyouverymuch.
Oh, um, like, no offense or nuthin'.

Well, as long as you really are going to be good -- really good -- you won't need them.

But at least offer the missionaries a drink if they come by, eh? It gets hot outside. Or cold. Depending.
------------------
