Well, I'll cross-post to make myself clear. From the "Insomnia thread":
-----
Sunday's comic... ROFL. LSOMN. Holy CRAP that was funny .
I'm not kidding. Maybe it was the fact that I read your post before reading the strip, but good MONKEYS that was funny.
And the banjo...BWAAAA HAHAHAHA!
-----
I think the best part, in retrospect, is the look on the giraffe's face. Now THAT's comedy.
------------------

Sunday's Comic (9/24/00)
I've now changed the caption from "As the glue spilled, Richard realized his worst nightmare had come true" to "Richard's worst nightmare comes true."
For me, the humor lay in the fact that Richard's WORST nightmare, the one he has always dreaded, and that has been sending shivers down his spine as he recalled it, involved a giraffe-headed, banjo-playing grandma rocking atop a giant turtle. And being stuck in glue in heart-patterned boxers. (The background is there merely as a stage.)
Now, granted, I don't actually LAUGH at the idea... but that's mostly because my worst nightmare is too close to it to be funny.

All right. I've never been one to beat around the bush, so I'll admit up front:
I don't understand this one.
That's okay, Randy Dude. 99.97% of the things you say and do send me into fits of embarrassing hilarity, so I'll assume that this one is just beyond MY capability to understand. If Howard laughed at it, I guarantee it's funny.

So..Big Bro--did you giggle?

In my usual bass-ackwards fashion, I posted the new thread about Sunday's comic before I read Howard's assessment of it in the "Insomnia" thread. Thank you for your thoroughness.
Hey, did you do that cross-posting thing with Kelya's fanart of Ennesby too? ("Just covering all the bases, ma'am...")

Geez, Randy. You changed the caption just 'cause I was too stoopid to understand your comic? I feel special. Proud to participate in the Dumbing-Down of America, yessirree Bob.
I think it WAS, actually, the glue spilling that confused me. When I'm trying to run in dreams and can't move, it feels more like trying to run through deep water or something, rather than being glued to the ground. With the revised caption, the "glue" is more symbolic of the feeling, rather than literal.

[KareNin, shut the heck up and go to bed. You don't even HAVE nightmares, lady, so no wonder you didn't get it. Go on, now...off to bed with you.]
