Robb -
You are an obvious idiot.
You blatantly ignore Florida Statute
1954.231.C, which states that votes for
fictional characters count for whichever
candidate belongs to a party closest
alphabetically to fiction; that is, the
Fascists.
Also, with regard to the Supreme Court
decision, your non-post indicates that
you agree with a guy who doesn't
understand that successfully contesting
a certified result results in the new
results being ipso facto certified,
although he's a Supreme Court Justice.
I'm BoxJam, and you're a moron.

Are you looking for a serious response? (I thought we were doing that over at the Superosity board???)
Actually I voted for Nader - fat load of good that did (he didn't get his 5%) because living in Arizona I knew the state was going to Bush no matter what. Apart from McCain, Nader was the only true American hero in the race. (My opinion I guess...)
I'm still spinning my head at our U S Supreme Court decision. I'm deeply disappointed in what I see as a piss-poor decision that both failed to articulate a clear legal standard (the language of the opinion seems to limit it to the case at hand - not a good sign) and failed to admit that it was denying the relief sought in the courts below (to say simply that the process was out of time is somewhat of a cop out since the Supremes themselves had stopped the count and there is precedent for finishing a recount process well into December - see Hawaii in the JFK/Nixon election which submitted its final slate of electors on December 28th)
Respect for the law (no matter how little we respect lawyers sometimes) is really crucial to the success of our civilization and I think the Supreme Court did a grave disservice to that respect in its actions in this matter.
In trying to dig a silver lining out of this however, if the US Supreme Court honestly follows the logic of its recent decisions in cases I am sure will be brought in the near future, than it is quite possible that we will see a higher standard of equal protection for all voters in this country for both access to voting and the quality of machines and process used to accept and than to count those votes. That would be a small consolation for the mess we just went through but it would be important nevertheless.
And P.S. Everyone knows Bill and Opus ran on the Meadow Party ticket...
