Where The Hell Is The Burning Dog?

Postby Burntdog on Mon Jul 31, 2000 2:57 am

Let's hope so
But it'll only be the next NEXT Big Thing. Aren't We real is definitely the NEXT Big Thing right now. And BoxJam was the NEXT Big Thing, now he's just a BIG THING...

Aaaaah... you make-a-me-a-blush!
Oh, and did you say BoxJam had a big thing? Don't believe everything he tells you. I He still needs to work on his proportioning.
Case
------------------

I'm thinking with all the wait he's putting on us, Rob is preparing the Next Big Thing in comic-dom.
At least, he'd better be.
*sound of knuckles cracking*
Case
------------------

Robb, on the other hand, is pretty good at drawing women since he has such a sexy one hanging around.

You know, practically every time Rob says something which is in relation to me, he compliments me. I think I should open up a "What Rob Tanner Thinks of Me" section on my site.
Case
------------------

And I can't understand if your comment about
me is a joke about masculinity, or an
honest comment about my drawing.
I really do have problems with proportioning,
although with the laundry list of other
improvements my drawing needs, it's not a
high priority.
AWR is really good, though. I think a 'what
Robb Tanner thinks of me' page would be
funny and good hype.
------------------

Relax Box-Pac... as a rule of thumb, until I start drawing like Tim Bradstreet, I will not criticize anyone's style unless it is in good fun. I just felt like having a little fun at your expense. Hell, I have trouble proportioning myself. Not to mention I have trouble drawing women, for some particular reason.
Not that it really matters. I'm sure Tanner will say something nice about me anyway.
Case
------------------

Today's nice thing about Case. I really like the color brown he uses in the background of his website. A bold yet classic choice that emphasizes the earthiness of Aren't We Real without overwhelming the subtle and sensitive shadings of the comic strip itself.
------------------

And here I thought all of BoxJam's talk about "gif sizes" was referring to his cartoon.
Suddenly I'm picturing a male organ wearing a mumu and having eyes painted on it. I don't like picturing male organs. Damn you people.

------------------

I think the art in a strip can be pretty unrealistic and still work - Doodle and AWR are good examples. In fact I think you guyz more stylized drawing almost makes it easier than someone like me who still thinks he should be making more of an effort to get the proportions right. You can get away with more stuff than me. I almost never look at one of your strips and say that doesn't look right cause the style is not realistic. I almost always don't like the way my strip looks.
Now chopping block - that's pretty nice work. I wish I was that good.
