Well, it was a lucky critical fumble, so I think it kinda evens out. Besides, that's just the title. Those things lie to you all the time.

And I have had some spectacular botches in my time. And then there was that one poison making roll... Oh, and ten siders seem to like me, so I had several good rolls in L5R. Unfortunately I didn't have that good of a gm.

Shocking rolls are fun as a DM. I had someone roll a 1 on an attack making a critical miss, however, the man was prone on the ground and the attacker had such a high bonus that they couldn't possible miss. Well needless to say her boyfriend's character who was standing behind her joined the enemy on the floor when she attacked with her Quarterstaff. ^_^

I seem to have the sudden urge to point and laugh.

I think the only time I've actually botched rolls was while GMing in Deadlands. That seemed to happen much more frequently than I would have liked. To this day I'm still not sure why that one deputy was utterly destroyed by the chickens but Andrew's and Mark's characters escaped unpecked.

The Dice like me sometimes, and sometimes they hate me.

Like that one time in Star Wars, when my scoundrel rolled a 1 to set a demolitions charge. He lived, but only because I convinced the GM to roll for damage. I told them they put that damn dead-mans switch too close to the keypad......

It's amusing that for all my lack of common sense and die woes I generally don't suffer character deaths as a result. In fact, the only character that I remember loosing came as a result of Doug backstabbing the group in order to survive.

Then again, I've never actually asked Andrew if he would have let us talk our way out of that situation.
