D&D question...

Post by Bloodsplattered Sidewalks »

We started an after school gaming group, and since I have more d&d experience than the rest (which is still very very little), I'm the dungeonmistress.
My friend Casey wanted her character to be a theif/hooker, but since thats not a class, should prostitution be a background skill or what?
It's a really weird question, but does anyone have any ideas?

I'm sure a focused googling would find you a variety of prestige classes with a wide array of interesting and inappropriate-for-broadcast abilities.

D&D doesn't really model professions at all. For instance, Blacksmith isn't a class. You can have a character of *any* class that happens to be a blacksmith, though.

I'm really hazy on the secondary skills available in D&D, especially since I've never actually played 3rd Edition, but what you're probably looking for is a few points in skills along the line of Bluff, Flattery, Running Like Hell, etc. Find things that are relevant skills, not just the job itself.

Haha! A moment to shine!

Anyway, I'd go with, profession (hooker) as a skill, exotic weapon proficiency (whip) and leather armor... :P But yeah, also have bluff, diplomacy, sense motive, all those great social skills... With a rogue's skill points that shouldn't be a problem.

we've decided "To hell with the rules, we'll make it up as we go along"

Suddenly being dungeonmistress is very apealling.
