*L* Great job, Kiva! :D *snickers* Let's see, Dakota would say his is cutest, but should be special, because he's best (the park was named after him, you know), Arno would act like he thought it was a silly idea but secretly be flattered as heck, and Brem would probably eat hers. ;)

What do you think the DR gang would say if they had their own action figure franchise?
Check it out!

I was actually thinking of a starting a topic called "The mighty marketing empire of Dakota's Ridge rolls ever onward" or such but since I remembered this exists, I'll post it here.
Well, so far we have tee's, mugs and original art pieces but what more could there be? I remember the idea of plushies and I loved that one. How about large glossy posters too? That'd be interesting! Maybe we should have our own individual piece of merchandise too like the PVP fez. Eh? I wonder what Angie and Mel could come up with for that one.
Personally I just wish there was a UK version of Caf

SW> Heh, if you want a shirt, and don't mind the little extra for shipping, send the shirt to one of us and we can send it on to you... angie already has your address even. *L*
AND speaking of the art auction! I'm trying to decide here. the one with jason and tucker is STILL one of my favorite images from the whole comic. i have that one saved on my HD, for crying out loud. ;) BUT the other one has Kess in it. tough call, i swear angie did it on purpose. ;)
But i've ALSO heard rumors that an upcoming auction will feature another of my favorites - hey angie, any change the "hanging from teh tree by thir tails one" will be in there? *L*
OK, OK, so basiclaly, People, get in there and bid and save me from going broke. Please. *L* Bid high enough that if i have to spend my life savings on art, then angie can support me. ;) (j/k)
[This message has been edited by Mel (edited 03-06-2001).]

Whoah, the things that go on while I'm not posting... *l*
Kiva> *LOL* Great job... And amazing how close you got to the originals too... I am proud to have your cow picture in my gallery. ;)
Mel> Now that would be a gross misrepresentation of the Arno-character, I am SURE. He is never secretly flattered when he complains, you hear me? Never! The nerve... ;)
As for the rest of the discussion, it seems that Angie is out of luck with at least half her fans sitting in Europe (or Hawaii. *L*).
You know, Mel could probably make plushies... I mean, she DID make a Keebler for Angie... *l* That's a sheep, btw. ;)
I think a franchise would be better off being too small than being too large, though. *L* The latter causes some problems...

Re: paypal> Just in case people here who haven't heard of paypal want to find out more about it:
http://www.paypal.com
Though I think you need either a credit card or checking account to use it. Jesster, maybe you can also accept check/money orders directly? Just a suggestion.
Arbow> *L* And I am completely at your debt to be in your gallery! To be included in the website of someone as popular as you....! *bows at the Great One's feet*
Heeeeeeeeeeeeey! *L* It's not like we Hawaii folk are TOTALLY out in the boonies! Pretty darn close......... but not TOTALLY! *L*
------------------

I DO know what to do about that, I'm just not sure when I'm gonna get round to it...o.O
Mel>*giggles* You remind me of my form tutor, Ms. Just, last night at our Comic RElief auction. She was bidding for every other item. *L* She got a couple too ; )
Oh and another thing! Kiva is a very good artist too! ; )
[This message has been edited by Dubble (edited 03-17-2001).]

I figured I'd try Kiva's link, but I can't seem to get through to their server... Along with me not being able to vote for DR for the same reason, I'm starting to wonder what's going on here... o.O
Anyway, it SOUNDS like a good idea to use that. I've heard about it, I have no idea how it works, but if it can help make overseas payments without all the usual hassle, I'd be happy... :)

Kiva>*giggles* How can you draw stuff like those DR figures and say that you being a -wonderful- artist is a nasty rumor!? ;D
And no Arno didn't put me up to this. Your great pics did!
SW>We have no idea. *L* But you can help convince her otherwise if you like! ;D
[This message has been edited by Dubble (edited 03-24-2001).]

*Admires the stick figure* Ooooh... Aaah... That's brilliant! *l*
Seriously, seems like it's always te best artists who are the most modest... Kiva and Angie have that in common, with both of them I didn't even KNOW they could do this for quite a while, while other people seem quite content showing off something of far less quality with far more pride... :)
Yay modest artists! ;)

SpiritWolf> NoOoOooOOOOoo!! Don't buy into the lies! You've taken the red pill! You should know the truth by now!!
Modesty and being extremely critical of work is a trait I've seen in some of the best artists and animators I know. People from Disney, Ghibli... I didn't start improving until I met people and who would also tell me what I was doing wrong!
That being said, Jesster, I really respect and admire your willingness to share DR on a regular and public basis! Keep it up!
*L* And once again, Arno, Dubbers..... *scribbles another stick figure* See? This the extent of Kiva's artwork! Please critique!

Darn straight.
A number of good artist friends of mine are the same, it's so true. I prefer these people aswell to anyone who shows their work off with pride, no matter how good it is. The big artists that often do usually only produce work through egotism and anger and there's no real feeling there, sure you can be correctly proportionate to the micrometer but great art comes from passion and enjoyment of it and that kind of art never comes from an egotist.
So, it makes sense in the end. ;>
