I only know the 'older' actors these days. Y'know, the REAL actors, not the young punks looking for a title here and there. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif">Gilbert Gottfried was the voice of Iago. *shudder*Sam Neil played 'Dr. Grant' in Jurassic Park.Those are the only two I know of out of Emambu's list. The others I either don't know of, or can't match face with name. I do know Sean Connery, though. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif"> And I've seen a few of the names here and there on TV. I suddenly have this difficult to control desire to find out who Gilbert Goddfried is. Did you know that out of all these people, I only recognise Sean Connery?

Really, a lot of these names are unfamiliar? I know I picked a couple that others may not know of but... *shrugs*Ah well, I'll clarify them for you:Jason Alexander: Anyone watch Seinfeld? If so, you'd easily know him because he play's George. He's got a voice which is a perfect comedic blend of "hyper" and "Spazstic."

Since Robert is a character that uses catnip like it's a controlled substance, I thought that Alexander's voice would go well with him.Laurence Fishburne: You might know him as Morpheus in "The Matrix" or Bubba in "Apocalypse Now." Either way, he's got a great voice that's both low, calm, and articulate. Anyway, it came down to either him or James Earl Jones, but the latter is better for giving speeches and lectures. And that just doesn't fit Jason, IMHO.

Sean Connery: Well, y'all better know who he is.

I just picked him because I think Austin looks a little like a younger Connery.Hugo Weaving: The more I think about matching him with Duke, the more I like it. Weaving played Agent Smith in "The Matrix" so I know he play the bad guy role. However, he's also the voice of Rex in "Babe," so he's got experience doing canine VO's.

John Lithgow: A shot in the dark for Logan. I only picked him because Lithgow is both a memorable character actor, and he can play a goof as well.Matt Doran: Didn't expect anyone to know him. Doran played Mouse in "The Matrix," so he's got that odd sense of humor, "Digital pimp hard at work," and a young voice to boot.Billy Crudup and Claire Danes: Anyone who's seen "Princess Mononoke" should get why I had these two down for Rocky and Corky respectively...Marty Grabstein: Anyone ever watch the show Courage the Cowardly Dog? Marty's the voice of Courage. I thought he'd be perfect for Tucker.

Ralph Fiennes: A cultured, older voice. As far as animation goes, you may remember him as Moses from "Prince of Egypt." Since Ace is older than Blazer, I thought that he should have an older voice.Jamie Kennedy: Played Randy in Scream. I figured that since he still had a teenager voice, he'd be good for Blazer who supposedly still acts like a teenager someties occording to his character bios.Gilbert Gottfried: Yes, yes... he was Iago in "Aladdin." It seemed like a good choice at the time.

Keith David: Arno, how can you say you're a Gargoyles fan and not know who Keith David is?

He's only the voice of Goliath. He's got a deep, rich voice that's slightly ominous sounding. Thought it was a good match for Shadow's character.Jeff Bennett: Arno again, you're a Gargoyles fan bt you don't recognize the voice of Brooklyn... and Owen... and the Magus?

Plus, he's the voice of Johnny Bravo "oh man that's good," so he can do a wide range of voices. Could work well with Dakota.Sam Neil: Dr. Grant from Jurassic Park. That's probably the role he's going to be remembered by.Ellen Degeneres: Didn't like her show too much, but I love some of her stand-up comedy. Essentially she's a nutball, which is perfect for Brem, right?Jenna Elfman: She's got a voice that can be both sweet and sarcastic at the same time. Seemed like a possible choice for Sandy. Anyone who watched early episodes of "Dharma and Greg" can vouch for me here... hopefully.

Jada Pinkett Smith: You might know her as Tori from "Princess Mononoke." I think she was also in Scream 2. Like Jenna Elfman, her voice can be sweet and sarcastic at the same time, but it's much older sounding.Carrie-Anne Moss: She's best known for her role as Trinity in "The Matrix." Kess, in her character bios, comes off as something of a bada** when her family is threatened, and Carrie-Anne Moss can pull off that role, IMHO.Helen Mirren: Like John Lithgow, Mirren's a characer actor. I can't think of too many things you might remember her in expect "Prince of Egypt" and/or "2010." She's got a very string voice, and Misty comes across as a strong character. Hence, a potential joining of the two.So that's all. Just a quick blurb on who these people are (for those who didn't recognize them) and why I picked them. Thoughts, changes, comments, suggestions. I'm just throwing out ideas here, people.

The scary thing is... I really don't watch much television.

Ack, do I feel silly for not spotting Keith David and Jeff Bennet in that list. I blame the fact that they are both under the voice of Arno, so by then I was severely distracted. Maybe I should edit my message above to say "Except for Jeff Bennet and Keith David and edit this message to ask you what you are talking about!

*L*That's an impressive list there. I don't think I could come up with so many names, let alone where they came from. *l* Interesting choices. I suppose a Iago-Arno would make sense. NOT that I ever heard his American voice. Just his Dutch one. Bah.

And I have this vision of Tucker saying "The thing I do for love..." now.

Animated.Sam Neil was also Merlin too, BTW. For all that haven't seen Jurassic Park and watched Merlin. {laughs} It's sounding like there might actually be a Dakotas's Ridge movie someday. Though you never know, someone might turn up and offer Angie a few million to fund it, mebbe. ;>Here's the big question though, how would it be done? Live action? Animated? CG?

Traditional animation, all the way, man.

And IF it was live action, Owen Wilson'd have to be Jeff. I mean look at him. Add a mustasche, and you got him

(Owen was in Armageddon as 'Oscar', BTW, and also starred with Jackie Chan in Shanghai Noon *L*)
I guess he'd be a good voice, too

I once joked that we could save money by having Jeff Bennet do ALL the voices *L*
I think he'd make a better Ace or Blazer, using the 'Brooklyn' voice, though. *listens to various Brooklyn WAVs* Yeah, Ace or Blazer.

James Earl Jones couldn't be Jason! He's Mufasa!

Jim Cummings (he's the new voice of Tigger, oddly enough) would be a good voice I bet!Tress MacNeille (AKA Babs Bunny, Dot Warner, Margot Yale on Gargoyles) as Sandy...Rob Paulsen (Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pinky from Pinky & the Brain, Helios from Gargoyles) would be a good BJ, I think...I dunno. If DR was actually animated at a major studio all these voices would probably be way different

Yeah, I thought about the normal voice actors that do voices. But when I was a heavy watcher of Gargoyles, then Might Ducks came along, it was kinda: "Ew." That dude with one eye sounded the same a Brooklyn. So, I looked at the credits and found out why. Gah, same voice actor. *shrug* He's good n' all, and I like his voice, but it's heard just about everywhere. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif">Ah well. Cheri Oteri from Saturday Night Live as Brem, definately *L*It just suddenly hit me.

Greetings all.Just wanted to say that this story _must_ go to the silver screen. It's to good to pass up. As to what medium, I'd suggest a combo of CGI and magna (but maybe that's cause I'm partial to CGI character animation). Oh, and while the subject of character voices came up, I could just see Jeff Goldblum doing the voice of Arno. It'd be a riot with all the character Goldblum puts into anything (*grins, wiggling his wolfy-ears*).Anyway, this story has to go all the way. I'll be lookin' in every now and then to see it progressing! Best of luck!------------------
