lord_ben, you have to remember that the winamp version 3 is only a <b>pre-release</b> software package. That means that you shouldnt expect it to work properly, generally it is only supposed to be used by the people insane enough to help the developers look for obscure bugs.
Remember, this release is getting close but it still isn't entirely what you can expect from the final product. We were just having so much fun with this that we couldn't help but give you a taste.
But yes ... stick with 2.8. I couldnt stand by and watch nullsoft get slandered

yes ben, i have to agree with enigma and you in this 1, winamp 3 is a hole lot of shit, and a waste of precious downloading time, at the moment anyway, as enigma said, it's only a pre-realease version, so wait till they full version is available.

and lets re-open a topic that is a hojillion years old with a reply that is o longer relevant, in fact, this was written at about the same time that the beta version of winamp 3 was released, so that is the reason for everyone thinking its gay

Why the hell do people keep insisting on reopening topics this old ... Oh well.
In anycase, despite my earlier bitch I have to say that Im sorely dissappointed by nullsoft at the moment. Winamp3 is practically useless compared to Winamp2.x I was a HUGE fan of Winamp2.x and still am, it was relatively good with resources, could load just about anything, was fast, responsive and had decent support. Winamp3 is bloated by comparison, takes FAR too long to load for a media player (even on my computer), the dsp capabilities have been removed ... and my rant could go on. I am however still using it, despite my loathing of ineffecient software (believe me, my win32 coding seems to be more effecient in comparison to winamp3. and thats saying something), in the vain hope that nullsoft can redeem themselves.
