well....Anchorage to Fairbanks is 360 miles and Chena is 60 miles north of Fairbanks.....

If you had no knowledge of Alaskan roads, you really don't relize how far away this stuff is.


(BTW: My family owns property in Talkeena. Besides the couple of gas station/ convient stores and hunting lodges, there really aren't any businesses out there. And only one gas station is againts the highway, everything else is down the Talkeetna junction)

Sounds like West Australia.. Over here it's at least a four hour drive between cities! I live in a place called Geraldton and it's 5 hours drive from the nearest city and unlike the Eastern states where there are a lot of mini-town scattered accross the distance all thats between myself and perth is kilometres or scrub and bushland!
